Northern States:
Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, D.C., Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Total Population = 136,308,568
Southern States:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia. Total legal 2012 population = 177,362,338
The South has 41,053,770 more people than the North. Then there's THIS interesting FACT:
Illegal immigrants 16,000,000
At least 80% of those are in the southern U.S.- Mainly; Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.
Number of illegals: 12,800,000
Population Difference: 41,053,770
Total Population over: 53,853,770 (South over north)
The largest percentage of homicides [by far] are in California, Florida, and Texas.
Why do you think the FBI lumped in "Hispanic" with "White" in their crime figures?
Addendum: It should be noted that around 70% of all homicides by firearm are gang related.
70% gang related? Seems low. Sounds like that stat includes suicides along with misuse and accidental deaths and of course the otherwise law abiding citizen who just snaps and kills people is what I'll assume is the other 30% of firearms death is. Or the non criminal use of them. Non intentional?

Suicides really don't fit in either category. It's a random exception and not the rule. Most law abiding gun owners do not kill themselves nor do the criminals shoot themselves in the head.

The slower ones might think of that as gun owners don't commit suicide because their gun owners and criminals don't commit suicide because their low life pieces of shit. If you factor out suicide, it would probably be 90% is intentional criminal use of a firearm and most of that takes place in black and Hispanic hoodz

The size of a State or it's location has nothing to do with why a State has a high murder rate or even if it's a red or blue State.
Break it down by city/race and it's pretty obvious WHAT the problem is.

What flawed logic would think that by going after those that obey the law, passing background checks with no criminal record would do anything to stop crime or the 70% of all homicides using guns?

I'd think by focusing on Where the shooting & killing is going on would be the best place to stop it...At least 70% of it and the Justice System already knows who most of those people are.
Nobody's doing anything about it.

Only to idiots.

The 70 percent figure that dumbsh!ts like GumsShow continually post comes from this sentence:
In 1980, the percentage of homicides caused by firearms during arguments was about the same as from gang involvement (about 70 percent), but by 1993, nearly all gang-related homicides involved guns (95 percent), whereas the percentage of gun homicides related to arguments remained relatively constant.
There are too many words for idiots to take in and idiots cannot hold the qualifying words that come with that 70 percent figure...

Your typically Gun Gnutter doesn't like to admit the far more typical- according to the FBI- homicide is your fat white husband felling sorry for himself committing half a murder suicide.

And actually gang-related homicide is between 15-20 percent.

Actually, we are having the problems that we are now because of Constitutionally perverse 'gun control'. As well as We The People not being united. IF we were to remove ALL of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL 'gun control' laws. And, We The People were organized like we used to be. Then there would hardly be ANY crime at all. Especially if the prison systems were run like they used to be. For prisoners used to have to WORK, and WORK hard.

Not quite, lying troll. That is a "survey". These FACTS are outlined on page 3 of THIS report:
http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publication...

Of course you DID NOT POINT OUT THE ACTUAL FACTS:

"They poison our streets with drugs, violence, and all manner of crime.

"Some 33,000 violent street gangs, motorcycle gangs, and prison gangs with about 1.4 million members are criminally active in the U.S. today. Many are sophisticated and well organized; all use violence to control neighborhoods and boost their illegal money-making activities, which include robbery, drug and gun trafficking, fraud, extortion, and prostitution rings. According to the 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report, gangs are responsible for an average of 48 percent of violent crime in most jurisdictions, and up to 90 percent in others. We’re redoubling our efforts to disrupt and dismantle gangs through intelligence-driven investigations and new initiatives and partnerships."

See how that does not translate into 70 percent of the homicides, Sweet Pea.

And the jurisdictions that the gang task force are talking about are the ones THEY cover, which would be GANG JURISDICTIONS.

I don't claim, the FBI asserts.

By far, the most common homicide is a man killing his wife, and the majority of all homicides are within the family or friends and acquaintances.

Butting aside: you keep insisting you have the right to sell firearms to gang members anyway.

The FBI puts it at 15-20 percent.

I've crammed it up your azz ten times today.

No one is going to make you say you are wrong.

Like when you could admit Delaware was a slave state.

Even after it was crammed up your az two dozen times.

Even when it has been crammed up your azz, Vince.

That is why you don't have the quote.

15-20 percent.

According tho the FBI. The US FBI, spoogeponge.

"To hear gun control advocates speak, one would be led to believe that gun violence is a widespread problem whereby the mere existence of a gun is as much a problem as the person who intends to wield it. But the reality is that gun homicides are overwhelmingly tied to gang violence. In fact, a staggering 80% of gun homicides are gang-related. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), gang homicides accounted for roughly 8,900 of 11,100 gun murders in both 2010 and 2011. That means that there were just 2,200 non gang-related firearm murders in both years in a country of over 300 million people and 250 million guns."
