Texas Senate set for filibuster finale on abortion

Jun 25, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WLOX-TV Biloxi

A sweeping bill that would effectively shut down most abortion clinics across the nation's second most-populous state has stalled in the Texas Senate - and a Democratic filibuster that will only need to last a seemingly manageable 13 hours Tuesday looks like it will be enough to talk the hotly contested measure to death.

Hispanic abortions are THREE TIMES HIGHER than white abortions.

Apparently Democrats in Texas want to keep it that way! Who knew??

"... there were 10.5 abortions per 1,000 white women ages 15 to 44, compared with 28 per 1,000 Hispanic women of that age—NEARLY THREE TIMES as many abortions among the Hispanic population.

The link supplied cites Guttmacher data. Guttmacher is hardly a fundie or Catholic source.

What a load.

Democrats nor rapepublicans have any say over a womans choice.

If hispanic women are choosing abortion more than others perhaps it is because Texass has a large population of hispanics and perhaps poor hispanics.

Hispanics are inherently incapable of family planning?

Wow. Nice one, MargaretSangergana.

Should we just herd them in a pen or something?

So, Morgana thinks that Hispanics, especially poor Hispanics, are predisposed to having unintended pregnancies. Apparently, she thinks they can't manage their stuff upfront.

Topix pro-aborts don't read very well. The data from Guttmacher, Planned Parenthood's former research arm, are holy writ to pro-aborts.

The pro-abort disrupters screamed their lungs out and managed to win one round. Texas governor Rick Perry will undoubtedly call a second session, where SB 5 will pass.

Pro-aborts have good reason to fear and loathe SB 5, which will put the following publicly supported constraints on their charnel houses:

** Increase abortion facility safety standards to the level of ambulatory surgical centers to shut down Gosnell-like abortion providers in Texas,
** Require the 18,000 RU-486 abortions performed each year be done according to FDA safety standards,
** Require physicians who perform abortions to be qualified to treat life-threatening complications after botched abortions and have privileges at a local hospital, and
** Ban abortions on unborn children beginning at 20 weeks after fertilization, when scientific evidence clearly shows babies can feel pain.

Who said that Hispanics are incapable of family planning besides you?

I stated a larger Hispanic population in Texass and perhaps a poorer Hispanic population as a possible explanation. Perhaps someone should do the research? I did not make this claim to begin with.

Nice didge MisogynistDantheMan.

For whatever reason they are "choosing" abortion is their business and not the business of the Democrats or Rapepublicans.

Where did I say anything about Hispanics being "predisposed"?

I think they are managine their "stuff", just not in the way you PREFER which would be NFP...right Dan??

Perhaps NFP is the reason?

Exactly. These anti-choice idiots would prefer that women go back to the dark days of the 19th century...when women had NO rights whatsoever, including the right to vote. Tough luck for them. I'm certainly NOT going to return to those days, and no intelligent woman would want that either.

Morgana, Ocean, et. al-

What's the objection to the legislation-specifically?

I mean, if the below are indeed stipulations of the bill, what's the objection?

** Increase abortion facility safety standards to the level of ambulatory surgical centers
** Require the RU-486 administration to be done according to FDA safety standards,
** Require physicians who perform abortions to be qualified to treat life-threatening complications after botched abortions and have admitting privileges at a local hospital, and
** Ban abortions on unborn children beginning at 20 weeks after fertilization

It appears that the first 3 provisions are enhancing the safety for the women, and that #4 is a reasonable limitation, as it's 3 1/2 months.

The pro-aborts won one round, Morgana, but those poor hysterical screamers in the gallery shouted themselves hoarse for nothing.

"Gov. Rick Perry announced Wednesday that he’s calling lawmakers back next week to try again. Perry ordered the Legislature to meet July 1 to begin 30 more days of work.
“I am calling the Legislature back into session because too much important work remains undone for the people of Texas,” Perry said in a statement.“Texans value life and want to protect women and the unborn.”

The session will be held, the lawless hooligans will be barred from the chamber, and SB 5 will pass easily.

And Texas will ensure that back-alley abortuaries like Texas abortionist Doug Karpen's [ http://politicaloutcast.com/2013/05/texas-abo... ] will be history.

Here are the salient points in abortion acolytes' arguments:

State inspection of abortuaries to ensure safety standards? Oh horrors, we can't have that. What are a few bloodstained recovery chairs and reused instruments? You afraid of germs?

Administer RU-486 by FDA safety standards? Not a chance. Let the buyer beware. You bought the drug; you own it.

Require hospital admitting privileges for abortionists? Hey, there haven't been *that* many women butchered in abortuaries.

Enact pain-capable abortion limits? Hey, the babies are going to die, anyway. Who cares if they suffer some pain as they're killed?

Seriously, though.

If something were to happen to a woman at one of these clinics and these suggested conditions were not in force, and a loss of life occurred for want of them, would Morgana and others not be running to the statehouse with torches and pitchforks demanding safer conditions for women at abortion clinics?

How can anybody get more anti-women than sexual irresponsible men who benefit the most from legalized abortion "Ocean56"? Women will never achieve human equality on the backs of dead babies!!

Oh of course Dan, yes, pardon me. My mistake entirely.

How could I be so foolish as to not understand that the purpose and goal of the anti choice crowd was the safety and welfare of women. HOW BLIND COULD I BE??

When I had an abortion it was not performed at a ambulatory surgical center. I went home was given instructions and contact information if any concerns arose. I went back for a checkup in three weeks. All went well. Aren't you glad? I was safe and sound....bet you and Dumbstifying are relieved!! Seriously....I didn't know you two cared!!

Lets face it Dan...the anti choice crowd is objected to RU-486 entirely unless you can prove otherwise. The CC is objected to Mifepristone to end a ectopic pregnancy...so what does that tell you Dan?? Concern for women is their motive...really?

Read RvW

The lines are drawn no need for a ban on 20 week abortion as an elective.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/histori...

Gosh....I so did not know how much the anti choicers cared about me!!

LOL...yeah you lost and will continue to lose.

At least the prochoice protesters took their protest to the proper place unlike the anti choice hooligans low lives and screamers who harass women.

Your clan of hooligans have been ordered back a number of feet from clinics....gee....I wonder WHY???
