'The dog ate my loan documents!'

Dec 23, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: New York Post

Does it seem remotely credible that a sitting congressman would fail to include a loan on his financial disclosure forms because he "lost" the loan documents and didn't understand that loans had to be reported? Sure, the forms include instructions explaining that loans must be reported and no, the congressman had never made a single payment on the ... (more)

In June 2010, Meeks admitted that over three years he had obtained two loans totaling $55,000 but had failed to report them on his personal financial disclosure forms, including a $40,000 loan he had accepted from Queens businessman Edul Ahmad in 2007.

Meeks received a check for $40,000 from Ahmad in January 2007 to help with costs associated with his new $830,000 home. It seems Meeks took the money without any discussion of interest rates, due dates or collateral requirements for the loan, which might suggest the payment really was more of a gift.

Ahmad, who pleaded guilty in connection with a $50 million mortgage fraud scheme, declined to testify before the House Ethics Committee, concerned about incriminating himself, but his lawyer told committee staff that there was no loan agreement or fixed interest rate.

The House Ethics Committee ignored Meeks’ failure to report the loan, the missing documents, the timing of the repayment, and Mehiel’s recollections. It also discounted the statements of Ahmad’s lawyer, finding it all came down to a “swearing contest” between a member of Congress and “a person who has pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, and is awaiting sentence.” In the committee’s view, that’s no contest at all.

Any objective observer, however, would find the circumstances of the loan suspicious enough. The fact that Meeks failed to report it, as required, and then allegedly “lost” the documentation, should be sufficient to persuade even the most skeptical.

Congressman Meeks is part of the Obama Regimes "War on Whitey." Nothing will happen to him, this story will fade away quickly and the banks that Meeks defrauded will be punished accordingly. Why should that cracker owned bank be able to make a profit on the back of Greg Meeks?

Kinda lame but still not quite as bad as Joe Wilson not paying back child support of $100,000. I wonder if he "forgot" he had kids. He didn't even have to face the ethic committee. Jerk.

Meeks is a disgrace to his community as is Obama.
Benghazi shows Obama to be guilty of any number of things, yet he is still walking around, acting like nothing has happened. We shall see.

That’s right boy, gnaw on that Benghazi bone; gnaw at it… you will never get over the fact that the “community” of patriotic Americans rejected your brand of obsessed hate and re-elected the brilliant Black guy in the White House…

But I do enjoy watching you obsess over silliness and suffer so greatly in the process.

Like Patty says, the "brilliant black guy", Obama has increased his personal wealth over 10 fold in the few years in office. Why shouldn’t the other black guys get some too? They won the election, it is their mandate.

There was never any doubt in my mind that President Obama would be re-elected because I knew that his ace in the hole was the fact that he single-handedly found and killed Osama bin Laden… after years of Bush’s disgraceful failures that allow Bin Laden to laugh in our face after what he did on Bush’s watch (9-11) there was no way that the American people were not going to reward him for that great accomplishment. Add the fact that the economy was improving as the unemployment rate dropped as he faced a weak republican opponent – and you had a recipe for the landslide mandate that happened on November 6th.

That being said… I never expected the kind of euphoric joy that I am experiencing from watching these tea-baggers completely lose it as they go in and out of their delusions and reality. The republican Party has completely imploded as the base of the right is stuck with the outdated talking points of Benghazi and takers, and welfare, and illegal’s and Obama phones and on and on and on, LOL!

You know, it never fails; it’s always the anti-gay homophobic right-wingers who always inject homosexuality into the discussion. And not just homosexuality; but some twisted and perverted reference towards it.

You don't have to be all cramped up in that closet, come on out; be who you are, set yourself free... LOL.

Clinton did NOTHING for years about al qeuda, little boy. Bush designed the policies USED by oblumber to find him, all your boy did was say, "uh, OK after he thought about it for 16 fkn hours.

Examples of Mr. Obama, now in his fourth year as president, adopting Bush-era measures:

Special operations forces. One of the first steps taken by President Bush after Sept. 11 was to revive, fund and expand special operations forces as the dog that would hunt down and kill terrorists.
President Bush also made U.S. Special Operations a war-independent command, just like U.S. Central Command, meaning it could plan and execute its own battle plans.
The U.S. Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the Army's Delta Force and Navy’s SEAL Team 6 mostly had focused on hostage rescue. After Sept. 11, they started receiving the manpower and intelligence to become manhunters. Their biggest successes: Saddam Hussein; al Qaeda’s top Iraq terrorist, Abu Musab Zarqawi; and Osama bin Laden.
Special Ops/Intelligence. The Bush administration fused commandos with the nation’s intelligence agencies — the CIA, the National Security Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency — into task forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
President Bush also transferred a highly secretive military intelligence unit, which specialized in technical surveillance and intercepts, to the Joint Special Operations Command so that commandos and intelligence experts could work together directly.
Predator strikes. The Bush administration established Predator drone bases in Pakistan to strike at al Qaeda and Taliban extremists in that country’s frontier badlands, where U.S. ground troops cannot go.

Well done, President Bush.....obama continues to use your designs.
