Killing 3 people is still just that - Killing 3 people. It doesn't matter if you are a poor "child" or a screwed up adult. Children are often more dangerous than adults. He, Cody, committed a crime - he took three lives. There is no excuse for that - other than true self-defense, not "My parents were mean and abused me". Waaah! Cheese and rice, people! Where did "responsibility" go? Everyone's got an excuse for why they did something wrong and that should make it okay. No way. Wait till some asshole hurts you or your family. Then you won't want to hear about the poor bastard's childhood, or lack of money or love or their mental state. It you want to forgive someone for what they did (to you) or your family/friends, then fine - that is your perogative, BUT cut the excuse crap. Man up and take responsibility for you actions. If you screw up and don't follow the basic rules of humanity, then expect to to accept the consequences. We have more choices than you think. There are options - choices and excuses aren't any of them. Some choices are good and some are bad. And some are in the middle. Although there are more gray areas in life, lets not blur the ones that are definitely right or wrong. Thank you.

Was delbert paul posey a narcissist?Did paul posey talk bad about everybody and was he a liar? Yes,if paul was a narc and drinking and had addictions himself,I beleive he abused his son codY and disowned him at one time before carla's death. Paul didn't want to have anything to do with codY. Was tyronEE evil? codY isn't a narcissist but he was physically abused hit and verbally abused by his dad but not as often as cody says,i think cAdy did somewhat slander his dad and spread evil gossip about his poor family, tyronEE did try to do the correct thing or was she evil?Did codY tell malicius rumours about his family?Did cAdy commit adultry with his father's wife tyronEE,was codY a child prostitute ie. harlotry? This case is a mystery geeez merrylee we go along,go along, ring around the rosey pockeetful of posey, hush a hush a we all fall down!! Did Paul Posey slander his family and was he spreading evil gossip and malicius rumours about his family was paul a harlot and did he committ adultry ever? None of this was clear at te trial.

Would love to know how Cody is doing. I feel sad for his childhood and hope he does well while locked up and then on to a productive life. Adults so often do not stop to think the impact their actions have on children. Sounded like his Dad was probably more interested in that check he got every month than the child.(Based on the Dad's previous actions) I hope parents learn from this terrible lesson also!!

I too hope Cody is doing well. I too was an abused child and know how difficult it was to work through it to a place that I was able to see clearly. The one thing I had in my favor was one person to whom I could go. They couldn't make it stop but they made me believe in my self. I am now 52 and shall we say "over it," however, at times I would like to have the opportunity to have the abuser look down the end of a gun just to ask them how it feels.

In fact, even the most cursory examination of the case shows that for years prior to the killings Cody was beset by tragedy as well as an almost unspeakable level of abuse. Here's a kid who was brutally beaten by his father, a man who cared so little for the boy that he surrendered legal custody of his son at one point. Tragically, Cody's biological mother, to whom he was very close, was killed in a traffic accident in 1999. Young Cody was in the car at the time. One can only imagine the terrible effect that had on the boy's psyche.
During the investigation and trial, witnesses described occasions when his father hit Cody with a rock and threatened the boy's privates with a metal hook. There was testimony of his father squeezing Cody's fingers with pliers. Classmates recalled Cody coming to school with black eyes. Even Cody's uncle, a plaintiff in the $600 million lawsuit, admitted that his brother beat the boy with a board.
On the night before the killings, Cody told investigators, his sick, twisted excuse of a father -- a man who had incest porn on his hard drive -- tried to coerce the boy into having sex with Cody's stepmother. When Cody refused, his father burned him with a heated metal rod. Unlike the nonsense in this lawsuit, Cody's burn marks were real. Investigators photographed them.
The judge in Cody's case found that the boy was suffering from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder at the time of the killings, hardly surprising given his witnessing the death of his mother and the horrendous level of mistreatment he suffered at the hands of his father.
None of this, of course, remotely justifies what Cody Posey did. But his lawyer argued -- and the court agreed -- that Cody needed treatment in a juvenile facility rather than being cast into the bowels of the adult prison system.http://www.joystiq.com/ 2006/09/29/the-political-game- video-games-made-me-do-it/

Q: Was Paul Cody the real father?

Cody will need counselling support for the rest of his life.

Congratulate the Judge for his wisdom in sentencing.

All you bleeding hearts make me sick. All you have to say is how sorry you are for Codey. How about his sister? You know, the one he killed. Oh poor little Cody was abused so it's ok that he killed an innocent girl? Jeeze!

Maralea was collateral damage, altho she didn't know it and very few people did know this, she was keeping a fire burning under Cody's stepmom and Dad and when Cody snapped, like I said, she became collateral damage. There was a diary kept by the mom and according to Maralea on a daily basis, she would "Tattle" on Cody. In the mom's own writing, "boy will he get it later". Of course she didn't deserve it, no one did, but no one was there for Cody, Not one single person

look no one really knows cody unfortunatly i moved to hondo a little after it all happened by my closest friends knew him very well in fact one of my friends still talks to him all the time, belive me you all can write your comments and feel bad for marilea or cody or tryone or paul but no matter what it is cody and cody only who has to live with what he did forever no you not me not anyone but him.... so instead of placing your negative comments because you dont know what he went through and if you were physicly or metally abused then maybe you were stronger maybe you had someone who was there for you cody didnt have anybody hence the reason he snapped i live in hondo i live in the community who fully supports cody and cant wait for him to return we love you cody see you soon!

I just read the book that was written and I felt for Cody, I was so glad when the Judge gave him a second chance (actually Cody's first chance) for a new life. Does anyone know how he has been and if he is doing well? I really hope so, something good has to come from the hell he had went through and what he most likely still thinks about and deals with.

I didn't know that a book had been written, what is the name, I would love to get it. I'm from where it happened, as far as I know he if fine, he was transferred a year or so ago to John Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It was a horrible event and, of course, there was a split decision in the county as to Cody being a victim or a perp. Guess we will never know for sure, but I've always been on Cody's side.
