I like John and congratulate him for admitting his addiction and going for treatment. Now if only the rest of the Congress would do the same. I'll bet we don't know the half of what goes on.

Thanks again to the dumbing down of America! Coasters, what was your opinion when Bill Clinton went astray? Were you as forgiving? What about Newt?(and the list goes on and on and on...) Watch out for airport restrooms, you never know when a Republican official might be "reaching out" to you....

Once an alcoholic always an alcoholic (for life) I dont care who you are. There IS NO CURE. As an elected official, this guy has no room or excuse for his actions. There is no forgiveness for KNOWINGLY violating the trust of the people that elected him. People of society condem drunk drivers, and you in no way can convince me that this guy (as a known alcoholic) didnt drive at least once while under the influence. He just didnt get caught (unless it was secretly swept under the rug).

He should resign RIGHT NOW! To claim he has been rehabilitated and is ready to go back to work is TOTAL BS!!!

Should have known you would come along and make another ignorant post. What has teaching abstinence done for teen pregancies? Dumbassss!! You know absolutely nothing of what it means to be an alcoholic.

"...opportunity to reflect on my life and afforded me a clearer perspective on what is truly important: God, family, friends and service to others."

Then do us all a service and resign.

I heard there's going to be another shoe to drop - if the wife doesn't start wearing that wedding ring again. Maybe she'll boot him before the voters do next term.

when republicans mess up it's a "noble character building opportunity" when democrats do it...well they are a "disgrace who should resign".
i thought this guy was an idiot before he went to rehab so my opinion isn't changed by this. but it sure is fun to hear the republicans make excuses!
but as for me, the best 4th of july celebration is the countdown to palin's resignation! woohoo!
BTW...rehab takes a lot longer than 30 days...but ol johnny probably has to get back to congress to whine about Obama. hurry back johnny! the PARTY OF NO needs you!
maybe him and sanford and palin can have a manage a troi...and sell the tapes for a fundraiser! they can call themselves the TEABAG TRIO.

You are so right- Sullivan say's " I have a disease"- I get sick of people saying it is a disease....So I drive fast all the time "It's a disease" "I eat too much and am over weight "It's a disease" His political career is on the outs- he won't make it to another term.. too bad he was just elected- we'll have to wait a bit...but interested to know what other shoe is about to drop??

Who cares what a person's political views are? Any person is to be commended for humbling themselves to admit they have a problem, and then demonstrate a willingness to receive help.

I agree. If it's a disease, It's a disease of choice. If you never choose to drink, you won't have a problem.

This is the first time I have posted on this forum.. I supported and prayed from John Sullivan...I am glad he is back at work...we need him to stand up for family values... for this nation...because we need that desperately with this energy tax bill being passed...by the house at the last minute... never read the bill...etc...and it will they say impact every family about 2,000 a year... some say 3,000 ... is it just me or does that scare anyone else???? to think that we might have to pay that much more just to heat and cool our homes etc>>>

I wonder if he would consider paying back a months worth of his Congressional salary? I'm sure that it is not too much to ask.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
