In 1972, as part of Nixon's re-election effort, a massive campaign of political spying and 'dirty tricks' was initiated against Democrats, leading to the Watergate break-in to plant bugs (tiny audio transmitters) inside the offices of the Democratic National Committee.
Perhaps the most notorious GOPer dirty trick was a letter planted in a New Hampshire newspaper alleging that leading Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Edmund Muskie of Maine, had referred to Americans of French-Canadian descent as "Canucks."
And let’s not forget the most disgusting slight of hand by any president’s executive action is Ford’s pardon of Nixon ...
Wow, it sounds like some of the stuff Obama is up to. We have gone a long time without this kind of mess in government, too bad Obama is turning out to be a bad apple too.

In other words, you can't trust either a Republican or a Democrat.

True, I could expect the youngsters waving the red Republican flag to forget or ignore the lessons learned from the Nixon era, but not those of us who lived through it.

Well Obama will still have to really work at it to catch up with Nixon's old school brilliance, although he is comparable in terms of popular support, as Nixon won his elections in landslibe victories.

I personally think Obama is 10x worse than Nixon.
you're assuming Obama actually directed this extra scrutiny of those 501c applications....

Exactly.

Nixon was nailed red handed at being intimately involved in his shenanigans, and that's where the comparisons begin to fade.

When Nixon was caught, it took a bit of work to assemble all the pieces and then assemble the parts to discover just what happened. It appears with Obama we are still in the discovery stage for all three issues (Benghazi, IRS, AP) and yet to gain a valid picture. The Dodging by Obama of the question concerning Whitehouse involvement, with the IRS Issue, does imply more is yet to come.

I dunno, just look at the history of GOPers trying their best to turn anything into a major scandal, shamelessly and callously. And even if there is an actual scandal, like Clinton/Lewinsky, they manage to spend some 80 million and six years for nothing. In contrast, the GOPers spent 15 million on the investigation into the 'terrorist attacks' on the World Trade Center and the U.S. Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
Gdub LIED to CONGRESS about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and used it as his excuse for illegally invading Iraq. Yet, impeachment proceedings have not moved forward for this gross criminality, which has resulted in the deaths of 665,000 Iraqis and 2,800 American soldiers (not to mention the tens of thousands who have been permanently maimed, injured or disabled).
(Remember now, the guy who pressed the hardest, Henry Hyde, Republican chair of the House Judiciary Committee and lead House manager, also had an affair while in office, so did Bob Livingston and Nute Gingrich during the same time).

Not to say that Obama isn't sneaky, but Nixon elevated "crooked" to an art form.

Indeed, but the Republicans seem to have a mass amnesia about the follies of the Bush era.

seriously? in the discovery stage for benghazi after all 11 congressional hearings show exactly the same thing...no cover up, no wrongdoing, no conspiracy...

you seem to not have an objective view of the known facts and that is what is clouding your outlook on these issues.

This IRS, Benghazi, AP so called "scandal" is peanuts; I'm still waiting for somebody to be jailed for the 2007 real estate/banking fiasco! It makes you wonder, where are those outraged GOPers over the 6 million homes that were foreclosed on the middle class?

Benghazi has been shown to not be a scandal through the 11 congressional hearings whose mandate was to uncover the facts of the event.

if you had proof that there was some scandal in Benghazi, you would have posted it. again, you are dealing with inaccurate thoughts. I am dealing with facts.

you have been used like a gutter waif by the people you parrot...

there was definitely a lot of wrongdoing in the US housing bubble...

part of that wrongdoing were people taking mortages for obviously hyper-inflated priced houses at the edge of their credit limit. in my family, we had three people ready to buy their first homes in that market. they were not stupid enough to buy when homes were priced at almost double their real worth. they waited and got twice the house for half the price....

Without knowing the mandate, you are speaking from a position of Ignorance; You are making an assumption (i.e. ass-u-me). If you have facts of the mandate on “11 Congressional Hearings have been conducted.”(your comment #34 above) Please provide a link with the Mandate for each congressional hearing. I’m willing to entertain Facts. 
Again, you state this as a definitive fact, so give us a link:
“Benghazi has been shown to not be a scandal through the 11 congressional hearings whose mandate was to uncover the facts of the event.”
No link means this can only be accepted as purely an opinion! It does appear that your opinions have become facts in your mind.
no. no it doesn't. the facts are clear. no wrongdoing or cover-up or scandal was shown in all of the 11 hearings held. if you have facts to counter that , you would have shown them. you do not.

there was no scandal, just a bunch of people dancing on the graves of brave americans for a partisan witch hunt.

The FIRST so called fact you provided is “11 Congressional Hearings have been conducted.”(your comment #34 above) and you can validate it only as your OPINION! You’re allowed to have any Opinion you want, validating as a fact is an entirely different issue.
you are claiming that there have not been 11 congressional hearings on the benghazi issue?

seriously?

again, if you had facts to counter that, you would have posted them.

what is your point in continually showing that i provide facts and you have nothing? is it that you enjoy looking like a fool?

no it is not opinion that there have been 11 congressional hearings on benghazi and that they have turned up no scandal.

Appears you are having problems with word definition. So hear you go:
Opinion: A view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
Fact: Information used as evidence
No link means this can only be accepted as purely an opinion, although it does appear your opinions have become facts in your mind! I do give you credit for sticking in here even with your lack of understanding of the words used. You should work at retaining an understanding of the words “Opinion” and “Fact”. Good Luck.
ao haw many hearings have they had then?
