This IS a tragedy. I hate to say it but it sounds like he HAD a legitimate gripe. BUT! the second he started killing for personal revenge he IS DONE.

And like every other wack job he kills innocent people and not those directly associated with his problem. NOW innocent people must suffer his wrath. Besides criminal murder worthy of the death penalty this alledged whistle blower looks hypocritical now. If there are any corrupt or abusing LA cops still on the streets they are still there. More importantly their friends and family of the deceased missing a loved one.

Isn't this what police officers are supposed to prevent.

Well, the cop's daughter is not entirely innocent. Anyone related to cop scumbags are guilty by association.

You can blame her mom for being dumb enough to marry a cop. They are nothing but paid gangbangers. It may be different in other parts of the country. But here in So Cal, they are legal thugs.

This is just a case of karma coming back to bite them on the butt.

BTW, it's hilarious to hear Chief Pig Beck call Dorner's acts those of a coward. Thousands of cops commit cowardly acts each & every day, abusing their authority any chance they get! So, Beck should refrain from calling anyone out on cowardly acts, unless he wants to look like a fool.

I think the girl's father is the problem or the focus of his rage. I believe there is some validity to his story. I can see being an ex cop then lawyer but being an ex captain which is mostly adminstrative there is less chance of him changing his biases ie favoring the department. Once you get to the administrative level in government you are either their for higher office, resume time and/or the perks.

Not all cops but many do commit cowardly acts. They do it so regularly that is why you are supposed to participate in a cover up without question. It's just routine cop business-testilying. But what did this guy think would happen. With all the high profile lawyers in LA this guy couldn't anyone to take his case or the case of the arrestee that was beaten?

One of my pet peeves of cop cowardice is the way about a dozen cops like to drag, kick and/or beat one unarmed suspect after a high speed chase. The police are supposed to be above raw reactionary emotion-it's called discipline. It's discipline and professionalism that are supposed to seperate the police and civilized society from the gangster thug mentality of the people they arrest.

He crossed the LAPD code of silence/blue line, couldn't handle the consequences and now society is suffering because he lost HIS battle no matter how "just" it was.

I don't believe it's all of them either.

I would guess maybe 10% of them are decent people. But most of those don't last very long.

The other 90% are no better than the scum they arrest. Nothing but gangbangers with a badge.

The ends justify the means.

Apparently it's shoot on sight wether official or unofficial policy. People not involved being shot by cops pursuing the criminal

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/02...

Now more innocent victims will feel a cop's rage and mentality of the ends justify the means.

My thing is why didn't the LAPD just say his allegations were unfounded and leave it at that. Cliche cop justice would've forced this guy to quit anyway.

In some respects I blame the LAPD because it seems they too made a mountain out of a molehill as well by trying to send a message because that seems all that firing was about.

LOL!! That would be hilarious!

The cops who shot at those trucks should be up on attempted murder charges. If not, I hope a few cops ARE taken out!

BUT if you want a "just" system you CANNOI be taking justice into your own hands. Vigilante justice is not good.

East Coast West Coast corruption exists.

correction from previous post.

You CANNOT be taking justice into your own hands. Repeat you canNOT be taking justice into your own hands. Especially capital punishment.

This is what starts police corruption AND criminal activity. A gangter murder no matter the rationalization is exactly that-murder. The police are supposed to be better than criminals. They are supposed to be disciplined and react in a controlled, professional and legal manner-that's what they are paid to do.

Starts?! Thanks for another laugh. LAPD has been corrupt for nearly 100 years. The events of the movie "Changling" were not fiction. A woman locked up because she refused to accept a boy they presented to her as being her own?!

90% of them are no better than the scum they arrest.

The ones who fired on innocent people in the two trucks this morning are a perfect example. They should already be in custody on attempted murder charges. The mere fact they are not is proof of what a thug mentality our LEO's are allowed to have. The system itself doesn't have a problem with it.

BTW, anyone notice the house of that retired cop who Dorner is after? About 3,000 sq ft, GORGEOUS neighborhood, 4 car carage!!

Ridiculous how well cops live! Most of them drive incredibly expensive cars, have all the toys (bikes, boats, etc).

An absolute joke. Public servants, my ass!

Rationalizing their illegal behavior is what starts corruption and criminal acts. Corrupt cops who rationalize their actions as 'just' or 'justice' if not 'self defense' are not police officers but individuals out to make a buck. Once their own survival take priority over the lives they are protecting is when they should be pulled offed the streets and their leaders changed. It's ends justifies the means logic.

This ex cop took the spotlight off of LAPD corruption. Beside the dead victims now many victims of police corruption will not be heard.

I don't know about that. Had it not been for his actions, most of us would not have known about the story of him trying to rat out power abusting thug cops.

But yes, it does taken away much of the attention on it. Deep down, the LAPD is happy about that. Now, a lot of people will be stupid & naive enough to attribute it to being the "ramblings of a mad man", as Chief Scumbag Charlie Beck strategically did this morning.

Same thing happened when I bunch of fools complained about the stupid decision by NBC to cover Obama's Sandy Hook speech and pre-empt football. At least half of the complaints were ignored because the fools used the "N" word.

One reason why alot cops and others got ridiculous pensions is that the regular pay was on the low end of the pay scale. So perks like a good pension and benefits was one incentive to work for government. Now regular pay is on the higher end of the pay scale in many jobs with the same benefits and mindset of civil servant government worker 50 years ago.

The benefits and pay are one reason why alot of non law & order types wind up in a government/police job. I've seen this with any government jobs let alone police jobs be used for political payoffs. Unless you have a politician as a job reference on your application here you can't even work as a trashman. I was told you want to work for the government around here you go to a local politician in the controlling party and ask to do favors/volunteer for them for about a year and then ask for a reference on a government job application. It's like 'do you want to buy a watch' as the politician opens up their raincoat. I don't want any government job if it comes with unpaid favors to be called in at a later date.

Point being, politicians and politics get you on the force, keep on the force and get you promoted on the force. Just like this lawyer for the suspect. Being a lawyer for him was about a personal career as much as it was 'justice'. I used to think DAs and police who became lawyers for the defense were trying to rid their conscience of all the stuff they looked the other way on because they still wanted true justice. But now it's about money and personal career.

At least this guy is not going about killing innocent civilians, and his is giving black spree and mass killers a tiny bit of parity with their white counterparts. The only difference here is most rght-wingers will see this as a failing of blacks a group.
