Unless you think from the start that the velocity of a dropped object can reach up to 1,750 ft/s as a 22 bullet can. “pshhhhh” Since: Jun 13 2,865 Location hidden | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94648 Jun 30, 2013   replaytime wrote: Ok lets spell it out for you. We will set a target below and I will bet you \$100 dollars the bullet I shoot will hit the ground or target before the bullet you drop does. We can make this bet as many times as you like. “pshhhhh” Since: Jun 13 2,865 Location hidden | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94651 Jun 30, 2013   replaytime wrote: Tell you what SubZone. Why should it? The force form gravity is at 90 degrees to the direction of motion, initially. The horizontal motion is independent of vertical motion. The bullet will always accelerate downwards at 9.8 m/sec^2. Not if you are shooting horizontally, and in the right direction. You clearly don't even have a high school level of physics education. You are sorely outclassed in this debate. So first lets see if you can learn some simple Galilean physics, then we will move up to Newtonian physics. By the way, what most people get taught in high school is not Newtonian physics, it is the much more simple effects that Galileo discovered. “Let's put a smile on that face” Since: Mar 13 4,183 I have lost mine. | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94655 Jun 30, 2013   Judged: 1 1 1 Subduction Zone wrote: Sorry you are wrong. It is obvious that you don't know how to add vectors. You can substitute a bullet being fired horizontally: http://www.ux1.eiu.edu/~cfadd/1150/03Vct2D/pr... “Let's put a smile on that face” Since: Mar 13 4,183 I have lost mine. | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94658 Jun 30, 2013   Judged: 1 1 1 Subduction Zone wrote: Not if you are shooting horizontally, and in the right direction. You clearly don't even have a high school level of physics education. You know sometimes things look beautiful in theory but put into practice they don't work out so well this is one of those things i guarantee you could not get a bullet to hit the ground first off the top of the building if you were dropping them vs shooting them the same thing will happen if you increase thr distance “Let's put a smile on that face” Since: Mar 13 4,183 I have lost mine. | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94662 Jun 30, 2013   Ok SubZone. Two bets out to you. 1. Lets both get on top of a 3 story building. Me with a 22 rifle and you with a handful of 22 bullets. We will set a target down below and I will bet you \$100 dollars per bullet the one I shoot will hit the ground or target before the bullet you drop does. 2. You fire yours perfectly horizontally, I drop mine at the exact same time. Ignoring factors that you cannot understand at this point in time they hit simultaneously. Yours drops five feet just as fast as mine drops five feet. Why would it be any different? “Let's put a smile on that face” Since: Mar 13 4,183 I have lost mine. | Report Abuse | Judge it! | #94666 Jun 30, 2013   Subduction Zone wrote: I just noticed that you tried to change the question. Actually the question Aura asked was "Drop a 22 bullet and fire a 22 bullet on a level plane of equal height. Negate wind and air resistance effects.Which one will hit the ground first?"She did not say I could not fire down. Just start at the same plane of equal level. But if you want to go by you dropping yours and me shooting mine out horizontally, that is like you throwing a ball to home from the outfield and me just dropping mine. Why sure mine will hit the ground first. Share Tell me when this thread is updated: (Registration is not required)

#### Daily Horoscope for December 5

##### Taurus

There are powerful forces at work in a relationship today, and they'll have quite an impact on you. If you're with that special person in your life, don't be surprised if there's a lot of sexual tension between you that manifests as irritation and bad temper. You'll probably have a huge row and then have a very enjoyable time making up.
