<quoted text>Ask one of your friends if you can borrow one of their old, dog eared copies of Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals", that book will spell out what Obama and the radical homosexuals want to do to this country. You also can look up Frances Fox Piven, and find out her plans for America. Both of these fine folks have been major influences on the democrat party since the 1970's.
But then, you knew all this, didn't you, Twinkles?
Nope, don't know who your friend Alinsky is, and won't bother to look him up. You are not the first to believe that silly conspiracy, and won't be the last.

I guess their plans aren't working so well if they have been at it since the 1970's. What are they WAITING for?

I think that means yes Luke.

Do you mean like when homosexuals claimed that if they were allowed to become priests in the Catholic Church celibacy would make them less likely to molest children? Is that what you mean? Because we know how that worked out!

Sorry to disagree, but I did graduate from college, but I am California schooled. Were you expecting QUALITY education? My major was English Literature, minor Liberal Arts and graduate degree in fine arts. If you can't think of a MORE useless bunch of degrees, I don't know what is.

Luckily, in my day, college was super cheap and I paid most of it myself by working at B. Dalton and only drinking Tyrolia wine.

"Achievements", NOT "achievments".

You are not the first to toss Allinksy in my face here. I don't care to look him up, I can pretty much guess what you are fussing about and what he taught, or said, from context of you Chicken Littles who think everything is set up to GET you.

I tend to not take conspiracies very seriously. They are usually false or mistaken.

It's all about power, and two percent of the population, with no way of reproducing, won't be hard to crush. The Marxist's are using you homosexuals as a means to an end. You're just too caught up in your "cause" to see what's happening.
Yawn. They've been reviling gays since some shrewd tale teller thought up the novel idea of a God in the sky, figuring out that he could control the unwashed masses with promise of reward for living the way the clergy demanded.

At no time since this was thought up, I see gay rites more accepted than ever before. Even hard edge conservatives are seeing the light, after the disaster of Romney's losing. In ten years no one will give it a thought, except old hard heads like you.

I'm old enough to recall when Petula Clark grabbing a black singer's hand on the 'Smothers Brothers' show in 1968 brought major blow back from viewers, the 60s version of the Million Moms. Now does ANYONE give a rat's ass about blacks and whites together?

In a generation, they will think that attitudes like yours were odd and strange when NO one cares what other consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home, no one but window peeking busybodies like you.

Did you ever get a gander at Romney's Stepford sons?

I have heard that even McCain's daughter is pro gay. The Bush twins are also. As I said, in a generation this will be non news.

Some of those same folks who got upset about accepting racial integration in the 60's are still around and have infected their children and their children. Prejudice of all kinds is still being taught, especially in the south. But of course you know this, and I would agree it is fading. It can't stand up to rational thought.

Yet irrational beliefs and outright denial persist. Consider the claim gay people can't reproduce despite the well known fact gay people are reproducing using the same wide variety of assisted reproduction employed by many straight couples. Also the irrational fear 2% of the population could somehow end reproduction among straight folks and destroy civilization. So we see irrational fear and prejudice persist, despite having been shown to have no basis in reality.

But I agree more young people are rejecting prejudice and discrimination, and it appears we have reached the tipping point, at least in most of "western" civilization.

Unfortunately, it is still important to remember:

"The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye. The more light you shine on it, the more it will contract." --(Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.)

and "Nothing dies so hard, or rallies so often as intolerance." --(Henry Ward Beecher)

From history, I have read some of the fears and worries of the intolerant and they are using the exact same scripts of long ago haters...promiscuity, tax sucking, crime, drugs, sloth, etc. They used the exact same rhetoric about blacks, about Native Americans, about Jews, about even the Irish when they first hit USA shores.

In other times, the colonists who hit foreign shores thought the natives inferior, despite centuries of civilization, and used the same arguments.

The oppressors use the same arguments about those they disdain. In 30 years or so the formerly oppressed move up a notch and then say the same things about those who are showing up now. It hasn't changed in centuries.

Odd thing is, the ones who scare the status quo NEVER make the slightest bit of difference to the scared as they are integrated into day to day society.

Yes, if you are going to harm someone, it helps to demonize and dehumanize them, to help remove the guilt most humans feel when harming others. We know this from war as well as from the history of discrimination against minorities, as far back as history goes.

I'm pretty sure you have seen this before, but this chart shows the same arguments used to oppose marriage equality for gay people was also used to oppose marriage equality for inter-racial couples, as you point out:

Very interesting! I wonder if they were aware of the earlier quotations being so similar, or are they from some "Hater's Handbook"?

It's something that the species has in us throughout all of recorded history, we've probably found the oddest of reasons to hate one another since before we came down from the trees.

I bought a 1913 YMCA sex education book for boys this weekend. Back then we doomed "molly-coddles" had just masturbated too much for our own good. It made us "sissy" boys and eventually "sissy" young men, then full fledged "molly-coddles" and there ain't no coming back from that. The whole un-reabsorbed sperm condition, you know. So you had better be searching for change with your hand in your pocket like that.

I'm guessing "hate for dummies".

But any military officer knows this. They probably teach it at military academies, under "Dehumanizing the enemy 101"
