House conservatives could take issue with the way the spending cuts were overhauled – particularly the inclusion of additional tax increases.

On the other side, Democrats were crying foul all afternoon over the move to raise taxes only on those making over $450,000.

"Looks like a very bad deal the way this is shaping up," Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, said.

The dems have lied about spending cuts before with Reagan and Bush I. Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming and force to make cuts in 94 with the republican led congress.

When ever a domestic US corporate facility is on the verge of closing they go to the local and federal governments for a tax break to keep that facility open. Not only is this blackmail it shifts the tax burden again to individuals and the local businesses to pay the taxes a corporation should be paying.
