She discussed gun control and mental health treatment with local leaders; Gabrielle Giffords makes a private visit to the Connecticut town...

Fact: Despite 22 international drug regulatory warnings on psychiatric drugs citing effects of mania, hostility, violence and even homicidal ideation, and dozens of high profile shootings/killings tied to psychiatric drug use, there has yet to be a federal investigation on the link between psychiatric drugs and acts of senseless violence.

Fact: At least fourteen recent school shootings were committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 109 wounded and 58 killed (in other school shootings, information about their drug use was never made public—neither confirming or refuting if they were under the influence of prescribed drugs.)

Fact: Between 2004 and 2011, there have been over 11,000 reports to the U.S. FDA’s MedWatch system of psychiatric drug side effects related to violence. These include 300 cases of homicide, nearly 3,000 cases of mania and over 7,000 cases of aggression. Note: By the FDA’s own admission, only 1-10% of side effects are ever reported to the FDA, so the actual number of side effects occurring are most certainly higher.

Really?... Let's see .. England has a total ban on handguns, assault weapons ... England has a Violent Crime Rate that is Twice the rate of the US... Yes they have a slightly lower murder rate but Twice the Violent Crime Rate But they also only have 9 Cities with populations of over 200,000... In the US 90% of Murders happen in Cities of over 200,000 people and of those cities the ones that have the strictest gun laws have the Highest Murder Rates with guns...

In 2011 just over 200 murders occurred in the US by so called Assault Weapons.... Over 400 murdered were caused by Hammers....

In the US All Convicted Felons are Banned from owning, buying, possessing any firearms... For some odd reason that does not seem to stop them from owning, buying, possessing firearms...

Since 1992 the Violent Crime Rate in the US has Dropped 50%... Since 1992 the Murder Rate in the US has Dropped 52%.... This is during the Period the Assault Weapons Ban was dropped and several states adopted "Shall Issue" Concealed Carry Permits.... The Incidents of Violent Crime and Murder dropped at Double the rates in Shall Issue states in comparison to those states that maintained strict gun controls.

All the Above data is readily verifiable on the FBI Crime Statistics Data Base... The Comparison to England can be made by looking up the Scotland Yard Crime Statistic data base...

Australian Gun Law Update

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts....
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins andassaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....'

Of course she does, and she also has two guns locked in her safe at home, as she stated. She never said she was against guns, in fact her and her husband both firmly practice their 2nd Amendment rights, however, she would like to cut-down on gun violence, not take anyone's guns away from them.
Unless it's someone such as yourself, with a mental illness.

Reading is Fundamental.

"Special interests purporting to represent gun owners but really advancing the interests of an ideological fringe have used big money and influence to cow Congress into submission," Giffords and Kelly wrote in a USA TODAY op-ed. "Rather than working to find the balance between our rights and the regulation of a dangerous product, these groups have cast simple protections for our communities as existential threats to individual liberties."

As both gun owners and victims of gun violence, Giffords and Kelly bring a unique voice to the gun control debate.

"Forget the boogeyman of big, bad government coming to dispossess you of your firearms," Giffords and Kelly wrote. "As a Western woman and a Persian Gulf War combat veteran who have exercised our Second Amendment rights, we don't want to take away your guns any more than we want to give up the two guns we have locked in a safe at home."

Yup and now Gifford and Hubby will cash in on the event... They will say we don't want to take Your Guns while they will support New Laws that do just that... They will make several million bucks giving speeches protected by armed guards as they frisk, run through metal detectors all those that come to listen... They will ride the short bus all the way to the bank and gain a following of people that are the Real Cause of US Violence... The Real Cause of US Violence is Dependency.... In a single word the Cause of US Violence is very clear and can be documented in 90% of all violence.. Dependency...

We only need to ask one simple question to determine “what could have set the teenage gunman off.” That question is: What psychiatric drug was he taking or withdrawing from? Sometimes simple questions are the hardest to ask. That question would be hard for the media to ask, because after reporting the event, taking station breaks for advertisements for antidepressants and sedatives might give big media editors and producers indigestion, since their very existence depends on Big Pharma sponsorship. That question would be hard for some politicians to ask because it might jeopardize Big Pharma campaign contributions (footnote 2). And that question might be hard for many Americans to ask because they are consuming psychiatric medications like candy.

It is a wonderful miracle that Gabrielle Giffords lived.

Her assailant Jared Loughner was described as perfectly normal till he was 16.

At 16 he was said to become depressed over the break up of a girlfriend and a friend who passed away.

At 16, was the first visit to a psychiatrist for depression.

The next account was a year later. It was said that he didnt take his medication...

And at 23 he did the shootings and was diagnosed in the psychiatric assessment of being schiztophenic (sp?)

I personally wonder if the antidepressants at 16 from his forst time around is what caused the illness and his homicidal behavior in the first place...
