Bush details $70 billion war funding request for 2009

President Bush sent lawmakers a $70 billion request Friday to fund U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan into next spring, which would give the next president breathing room to make his or her own war policy.

Are we reading the same quote? He said that if we're not dependent on Middle East oil, we'll never need to fight there again, meaning, he thinks we are fighting there now because of oil.

Fighting a "War on Terror" in Iraq and the FBI stated that they believe that at least dozens of terrorist from the Middle East have crossed the Mexican border in the last several years and set up cells in this country.
