What unusual about the request? Its a convention, people like to have a drink, weapons won't be in the area, wheres the problem?

Dangerous combo.

I used to have a friend who, together with his obnoxious brothers, always used to turn hunting trips into drinking trips. Frankly it was a miracle that none of those trips ended with one of them shot.

Then again, I shouldn't think people will be getting completely snookered here on the convention floor.

Isn't this what happened when Cheney went hunting. A few too many and his "friend" looked like a grouse.

Read the article. It says to suspend the license, meaning ban the sell of alcohol in that part of the building.

I support the NRA and constitutional rights but I see no need for this.

For clarification the catering company is requesting this, not the NRA.

You are going to be very disapointed. If you had bothered to READ the article( I know its hard , they use two syllable words) you would know guns and liquor are in differnt parts of the building
The vast majority of gun owners know weapons and alcohol dont mix and you can be sure if some one who been drinking gets near the weapons he will be politly escorted away.

This isn't the first time that the NRA had guns and alcohol at their convention.

Can anyone post a video from the last "shoot out" at the NRA Convention?

Barack Vagina, if this is the best you can do to promote gun control, you really need to fire your propaganda machine. Embarrassing to say the least.

Left Wing Loonytoon Anti-Gun Nut reactions to such a story are instructive in showing why Left Wing Loonytoons should not be allowed impact at any level of government, school system, or trash collection.

I now everyone is saying "Why Not?"

Well, it's because their reactions show how they would run a gun convention... 50 Cals loaded and ready to fire with mesmerized dopeheads loading live shells into a German 88.

You are far more likely to be shot while attending a public school function, a rap concert, or music awards ceremony.
Gun violence is for the most part a cultural thing, and it aint part of the NRA or Republicans culture.

Yep, let's get everyone riled up about those gun-nut rednecks. Seriously, this article is pathetic. The gun owners you truly need to fear are not NRA members. The gangbanging scum who obey no laws are the ones who should be feared.

Sorry to disappoint you, but you won't be seeing the bloodbath you are hoping for. When was the last shootout at an NRA convention?
