Spending money on infrastructure has always paid off. REAL Republicans like Eisenhower, who created the Interstate Highway System, knew this. The Tea Partyers are the RINOS--a real Republican wouldn't let our nation crumble just to win an election. Ike must be rolling in his grave!

So creating jobs & fixing our infrastructure are now "bad ideas"? At least we know where the GOPasaurs stand.

Ask the 13 people killed when the I-35W bridge collapsed in the Twin Cities.

...“According to the [Congressional Budget Office], the Democrats’ proposal will do little for the economy and putting people back to work in the short term because the money will be spent gradually,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ken.“According to the CBO, less than one-tenth of the funds in the Democrat proposal will be spent next year. And roughly 40 percent won’t be spent until after 2015. This hardly matches the President’s calls for doing something ‘right away.’ Second, it costs another $57 billion we don’t have....

He advocated a Republican alternative to the bill, introduced by Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, that would extend the current highway and transportation bill for another two years. However, that bill was blocked by Democrats with a 47-53 vote."

The I-35W bridge was declared structurally deficient since 1990, along with 75,000 other bridges in the U.S. that STILL haven't been fixed.

Why wasn't it fixed with the first trillion? You remember that trillion, right? The one where presidential cronies received billions for high risk companies, billions to bail out unions and states that had spent their way into bankruptcy.

In this second stimulus, he wants to what? Bailout the State's public union employees, again. What about next year? Will he again be Daddy Warbucks handing out money for votes?

He can dress this pig up in a gown with a new label, but it's still a pig.

Why didn't the state fix it? They've had 30 years.

Maybe they just don't care.
