So you are blaming Obama's lack of believability on Bush!
Not at all. On the Syria issue, I'm blaming much of it on both Bush and Clinton, although most of the American public only has Bush's WMD branded into its subconscious because Slick and Slickette were far craftier manipulators AND because his machinations preceded 9/11. That was clearly a game changer.

In fact, I'll even go back to Bush Sr. on this, when he could have stopped the Balkan Wars dead in their tracks by backing the EU sponsered Lisbon Accord, which had been already signed on by all the Balkan antagonists. Instead, he sent envoy Warren Zimmerman to Bosnia's Izetbegovic (a muslim nationalist himself) to advise him that 'if he didn't like his signature, to withdraw it). The end result was 3 more years of brutal warfare culminating in the '95 Dayton Accord under Clinton, that achieved almost the EXACT SAME cantonization called for under the Lisbon Accord. I've briefly spoken with Galbraith on this issue and he washes his hands of what purpose Bush's Zimmerman served before him.

The REAL reason a bunch of liberals are chomping at the bit to start another war? BECAUSE IT'S NOT IN OUR NATIONAL INTEREST!
That's right: liberals think a war can ONLY be moral if it is NOT in our interest, but rather being fought on somebody else's behalf. That can be true even if the ones were fighting for are fairly unsavory themselves.
And that is the TRUTH!
So.........Why would teabaggers enter a war?

FOR the corporate multi-national "interest".

Wasn't Iraq invaded to "save" the Muslims"?

Poor teabagger.

That's right...WAR. Against an evil dictator who gassed more than ten times the number of civilians than Assad has. War, not a useless, impotent pin-prick attack that will do NOTHING.

This phony war will only convince Assad and others that we are not serious. We can do that by continuing Obama's retreat from the middle east; it's cheaper too. Turning around to launch one last wimpy missile salvo is pathetic symbolism that sends exactly the opposite message it's supposed to send.

There is a certain dichotomy to this situation: on one hand we, as civilized people have to ask ourselves, at what point is doing nothing no longer an option? It's hard to deny that It doesn't get much worse then dropping chemical weapons on your own, unarmed, citizens.
On the other hand, however, history also stands against us in this. Many core countries (many who don't like us very much I.e Russia, China, etc) have their hand in on this as well; similar to the system of alliances before WW1. So we must also take into consideration the high possibility that this, like many other US endeavors, could turn into a debacle.

How does a Nobel Peace Prize winner justify launching missile strikes in Syria? Or for that matter, a five-year drone war in the Middle East? Kirsten Powers says: he simply can’t.

why bother if, as kerry suggests, he'll attack no matter what congress does?

i'm dead serious when i say that if congress turns him down and he attacks anyway, he should be impeached, convicted, and removed from office.

Congress approved missile strikes just the other day; Obama doesn't have a lot of opposition in this whole thing.
He also doesn't have a lot of support for it either, which will surely be a problem.

Rodman's defected to North Korea. He'll be opening the country's first tattoo parlor in downtown Pyongyang.
