With Quick Action, New York Enacts Tough Gun Laws

There are 20 comments on the www.pewstates.org story from Jan 16, 2013, titled With Quick Action, New York Enacts Tough Gun Laws. In it, www.pewstates.org reports that:

New York on Tuesday (January 15) enacted wide-ranging new gun laws, becoming the first state to tighten oversight in the wake of last month’s elementary school massacre in Connecticut. The legislation, which Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law on just the second day of the 2013 session, has been called the nation’s toughest set of gun-control measures. New York’s previous gun-control measures were already ranked among the strictest.

Medical research has determined that liberalism is a mental disorder. It is suspected that it is caused by a mutant gene with symptoms that include the inability to discern reality and to attain maturity. Leading them to fits of tantrum when denied what they wish. Such infantilism seems to be a common trait experienced by liberals in situations where they meet opposition on issues that require logical thought proceesses rather than emotion. This stunted sense of reason was thought to be incurable but new reasearch shows that a cold dose of reality sometimes is beneficial.

Faulty logic.

A person with no gun will have great difficulty comitting any murder, never mind mass murdering dozens of kindergarteners and their teachers.

People use guns to kill, yes; but any other tool is much less effective.

So like a dummy using a bomb is not effective. It is not the BOMB that kills it is the person using it ..... Same difference ...

Faulty logic indeed, Mr. Bill. Your point is laughable.
No gun = great difficulty? What a moron.
I could kill you in less than a second with only my hands.
There are very much more effective methods, which isn't the issue,
but for those that want to create carnage, some home made explosive and old hardware can make a very effective hand grenade and take out an entire room in one bang.
The actual problem is the person willing to commit violence, who is aided in getting that way by exposure to daily murder and mayhem thanks to the wonderful liberal Hollywood elite who make their living glorifying violence.
An attempt to remove firearms from the people wholesale would start a revolution, just like it did in 1776.
The basic problem with your contention, is that criminals and those who don't care about consequences will IGNORE the laws.
The liberal judges you support will only give them a hand slap..
No? Ever see how many murders are committed by repeat offenders?
Gun laws only serve to prevent the law abiding from their own rightful defense.
Even after this law, a gangbanger with a criminal record can buy ANY WEAPON HE WANTS in New York. Actual assault weapons which menas Full auto - No problem. There was, is and always will be a black market, so in the end, when all guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
While I doubt that a crap for brains liberal can understand that, it still happens to be the truth.

During the LA riots....a man stopped a mob from getting into his house with a semi-auto rifle.

Now, with your thinking....the families in NY will be in great danger from home invasions.

Brilliant.

Subways in NY killed more people last year.........ban subways. LMAO

In Wash DC:

“The gun ban had an unintended effect: It emboldened criminals because they knew that law-abiding District residents were unarmed and powerless to defend themselves. Violent crime increased after the law was enacted, with homicides rising to 369 in 1988, from 188 in 1976 when the ban started. By 1993, annual homicides had reached 454.

…Since the gun ban was struck down, murders in the District have steadily gone down, from 186 in 2008 to 88 in 2012, the lowest number since the law was enacted in 1976. The decline resulted from a variety of factors, but losing the gun ban certainly did not produce the rise in murders that many might have expected.”

Yes, if you snuck up behind me you might kill me before I saw you.

But how many teachers and kindergarteners can you kill with your creeep hands before the police get there or one of the teachers hit you with a frying pan?

Two dozen, do you think?

and, the American revolution was about taxation without representation, with a minor theme of allowing us to produce our own goods rather than heve to have them inported, with taxes, from England and other colonies.
Not guns, moron. HINT:(Don't get your facts from Limbaugh and O'Reilly.)

No thanks; here's a guy who offers to kill me in less than a second; and sees nothing wrong with the wholesale slaughter of little angels in Connecticut. I was too kind.

Can you even read a comment, or is your butt completely engulfing your head preventing comprehension?
I didn't offer to kill you. I said I could, not that I'd especially want to, and I wouldn't need to sneak up on you either.
It isn't that difficult. People are quite fragile.
By your "logic" murders were never committed prior to the firearm.
What a COMPLETE MORON ! This was in response to your ridiculous comment about needing a gun to kill someone. I pointed out other means.
Where did you get the idea that I saw nothing wrong with kids getting killed? That seems to be your idea, as I never mentioned it, and I suspect you were the one who was glad about it happening so you could jump on the gun control bandwagon, like your fearless leader who IS protected by ACTUAL assault weapons, not ones that happen to look like them cosmetically.
You make the ridiculous and undefensible statement that peoples' consitiutional liberties can be taken because some loonie bin kills some kids, and that answer is a completely ineffective solution. You are a complete IDIOT if you think that the proposals that stinking pile of crap in the White House proposed would make a bit of difference. Not even the WH staff could provide an answer.
You being kind?
You are a typical liberal: evil, rotten to the core, angry and incapable of making an argument. You really suck, dude.
