<quoted text>yes, drawing a line in the sand was a particularly idiotic move on Obama's part knowing (or at least he should have known) that there are no viable, positive actions he could take unilaterally if and when Assad crossed that line.
What it was is that progressives spend endless amounts of time destroying everything about others in their way, they forget that they screw up. With all of the anti Bush venom that has been spouted, you all pronounced yourselves of gaia godliness and just knew better. The President if on the level and no red flags show up is just a bit sullied. But he showed leadership. He probably is hitting the punching bag. But this will pass. Its tragic that politics has become a fishbowl. If we all put it there, maybe we can take it back a step. One of the reasons Presidents have to get out of Dodge so often.

MCP,the Prez should get Congressional approval first, doesn't really need it but its the correct decision..My opinion remains that we need to monitor this situation but not be too quick to use force..women/children are being slaughtered daily and its hard to imagine what it must be like for most people-However; if the UN Security Council is against it or wants more data-as a member of this group we should not be a Rogue nation that doesnt respect our partners..Im personally against intervention at this point..You make a good point though-ask Gadhafi about weakness and Pan Am flight 103-Prez Obama and NATO took care of Reagan's most hated leader with no boots on the ground! It seems France has been a great ally in Libya/Syria..in some ways they're as loyal as Great Britain

Except for the fact that that was precisely what he was going to do. But now that he has made a fool out of himself by making threats that he lacks the courage to back up, he throws the ball in Obama's court where Boehner and his ilk can further highlight his fecklessness. The long this goes on without a strike the weaker Obama appears.
Who cares what they call President Obama? I think it's great that our enemies think our Commander-in-Chief is weak and I hope they continue to think that. They won't know what hit them.

Obama is on a role. Knowing Congress, he can get this put on the fast track and have it out of there by July 2014, at the latest. While he's waiting, there just might a 'leak' on what specific targets we will be hitting and when. Then he can get the money flowing too, so they can start to rebuild as soon as we're done. You gotta love it when a plan comes together.

The fact is that Democrats are very wrong and wrong people by going along with what is so wrong about Obama on Syria in their usual stand and conviction as policy issues by being called liberals .
They only know to bicker the other ones doing it about and opposing Iraq war, which was the right thing.
But when Obama is doing the same thing about Syria as if another Iraq, they even call it as brilliant.

Obama has been very wrong as that he opposed Iraq war is never real by claiming mission accomplished--mission accomplished is equal to high costs of resources taken away, 5000 military lives lost, 20,000 injured-handicapped, those coming back with high suicidal rate, US imaged damaged on world stage.

Obama is never real, as he has done more on Patriot Act and snooping programs and prosecuted a lot more people based on P.A., demolished those supporters civil rights (including minorities), liberty freedom, put more in prisons with beating and torture, which would be worse of all time, reflecting a police state--with police having more armory than before, worse than those of previous periods as not as much before.

Obama is a radical known as no real stuff, that he who opposed previous administration's policy in the ME, is doing the same way too far than previous one, with the example of current Syria which never came up with chemical weapons issue registered alike In UN like the case Saddam of Iraq. But all of a sudden, he tried to call the weapons subject of saying having some people killed by Chemical weapons as unproven with no clear evidences and solid facts whoever did it, to the UN to blow Syria up to show Obama is wrongful and big wrongdoer, while the freedom rights and liberty, economy are getting worse since his time, which would not be paid attention to.

This stand to get into ME for some action is purely symbolizing Obama as a fraudulent radical,in contrast as contradiction to his image, but Obama is totally wrong on Syria while it is wrongful.

Obama has Change of heart after taking walk... THAT WAS WITH VALERIE JARRETT, AND SHE TOLD HIM THAT IF HE EXCEEDS HIS AUTHORITY ONE MORE TIME THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE F-UPS HE HAS MADE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS AND THE MESS HE HAS MADE OF THE MIDDLE EAST.

If Obama attacks Syria, look for Iran next.

Idiots like you who call a President a "wimp" and a "coward" for not going into war are responsible for the massive casualties and debt incurred by Iraq. Please learn from your mistakes.
You need to remember that Bush had congressional support for Iraq and from democrats. Hillary approved of the war up until she decided to run for President. I think what Obama is proposing could be worse than him losing face and backing down. A shot across the bow and all of a sudden the rest of the middle east is in complete chaos. World War 3 around the corner???? I worry it could be. Congress should vote no and if Obama goes in without approval he should be impeached quickly......

He might want to add a lot more burnt losses to Syria without having to care, by wishing to say another 'Mission accomplished' again--however, things turn out to be very bad and gloomy even before he can go any further.
