The American military has been liberating people for more than two centuries.

Who do you think actually freed the slaves down south? Hint: It wasn't some rich politician from Boston or Philly wagging their fingers.

In fact, the losses in Iraq, while significant and regrettable, are light compared to the mission and the stakes. Bush turned an enemy to an ally, right out of Sun Szu's Art of War. France aided America in our Revolution, and we bailed her out of two wars last century. Perhaps in a brighter future the Iraqi people will remember our investment of our finest people's blood and treasure and help us in some way after they re-build their nation.

It's a shame liberals sided with al qaeda for political purposes. Now, barock wonders why no one wants to follow him to Libya, Syria or Iran. It's even more of a shame barock sent joebiteme to negotiate the status of forces agreement. It was doomed from the start.

Sorry loony toons, but the “Emancipation Proclamation” freed the slaves. I find it comical how wingnuz troglodytes like you keep cursing out liberals and the constant whining about liberty and freedom. Repeating your brainless mantra of libs this and libs that as if you troglodytes had some sort of a bug in your tiny brains that makes you repeat the same idiocies over and over. The fact remains, liberty, freedom and free markets are huge liberal ideas. One has only to look back to the founders of our great country who came up with radical new liberal ideas while the conservative troglodytes of the time tried to install George Washington as the King of the New World. I’m sorry, but you conservative loons where idiots then and are idiots now and will always be incapable of a single original idea.

You listened to other people's interpretation of the ruling instead of actually reading & understanding the ruling for yourself.

Had you read it for yourself, you'd understand they ruled the individual mandate- which is just one small part of the ACA- to be constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress.

You'd also understand that doesn't mean it's a tax.

Actually it didn't; that's a common misconception.

You saying this:

"you'd understand they ruled the individual mandate- which is just one small part of the ACA- to be constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress."

Then saying this:

"You'd also understand that doesn't mean it's a tax."

You are trying to explain how a tax ISN'T a tax!!?!?! Who writes for you? OBAMA Is this the same as it his red line then it isn't?? Does Obama have YOU that confused? Are you listening to what you are saying?

Actually it did: The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, as a war measure during the American Civil War, to all segments of the Executive branch (including the Army and Navy) of the United States. It proclaimed the freedom of slaves in the ten states that were still in rebellion applying to 4 million slaves in the U.S. at the time.

Correct.

Just because it's constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress doesn't mean it is necessarily a tax.

Now you're getting it.

Just as requiring you to FILE a tax return is constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress doesn't mean filing a tax return in and of itself is a tax.

Just as requiring you to disclose all your income is constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress doesn't mean that disclosure is a tax.

Paying a fine for failure to purchase healthcare insurance is a penalty which can be constitutionally imposed under the taxing authority of Congress, but it's not a tax.

Actually it didn't. It only freed those slaves in the areas the Union controlled; the rest remained slaves until the 13th amendment was ratified.

That's like saying the Declaration of Independence won the American Revolution.

It took EIGHT years of brutal war to give those words meaning. We owe those Continental Soldiers an immense debt that can never be re-paid.

The emancipation proclamation would be one more piece of worthless paper without the bayonets of union soldiers to enforce it.

George Washington was a conservative. I've read numerous books on our greatest President.

The very fact that Washington past up the conservatives push for a King makes him a liberal --- only a conservative would allow himself to be crowned King of America and the hell with the rest of the rabble!!

Also just because the Supreme Court says the Tax loop hole made it legal, doesn't necessarily mean it is constitutional which it isn't. No revenue law can start in the Senate as the ACA was.

Since the SCOTUS determines what is constitutional, and the SCOTUS has determined the individual mandate is constitutional, then that DOES actually mean it is constitutional.

The ACA isn't a revenue law, it's a regulatory law; problem solved.

It was deemed a tax, a tax is revenue, and it can not start in the Senate. It is unconstitutional by the rule of law.

If just because they say it is constitutional then, Slavery and the Dred Scott law is also constitutional. Where can I buy one.

No it didn't you dope. The ACA was H.R. 3590. If it originated in the Senate it would have bee S.B.****.
