What is wrong with giving Obama, and his 40 thieves everything they want if it will win elections in the long run? You give them the debt level, and question every penny they waste, and point out how the Republicans can do better. Well, no one could do any worse. This gives Republicans time to concentrate on Benghazi, and the fact we need job opportunities, not handouts. This is a win win, and the Democrats call it something else, because they can't lead. They hope no one will notice. You can't let the country go bankrupt, and the Democrats would just shut down the Government again if they didn't get their way, like addled Children.

The veto pen is the difference. Bush vetoed bills but signed Military spending bills. Obama signed spending reduction proposals.

The Republicans 9% approval rate embarrassed them into submission on this debt ceiling vote.

They noticed the writing on the wall

If your shallow mutterings don't embarrass you, no one should be embarrassed.

Teach the tea party a lesson?

I doubt it. Remember the saying: You can't change

I'll give you an easy one to answer, if at all possible.

Name any big spending items the 110th / 111th Congress passed during Bush's tenure.

Let me start to help - the financial bailout - proposed by Henry Paulson and approved by Bush - almost 1 trillion dollars.

You're up Spunky!

Tea Party is planning A coup in the Republican Caucus.
Open revolt and a call for Boehner's head.
I don't think they have the courage to get 50 members to backk their play, but as always they are talking big.
