They are only going to take care of obtaining the long term expensive closed-bid subcontracts in their criminal social circle's income interest, and then leave the rest (including where the money will come from to pay these bills) for citizens and the next administration.

These companies and new bid procedures were set up merely to profit off U.S. citizens, who are so apathetic, these criminals have nothing to fear.

FEMA sucks. And that's the hard part. They can NOT suck if they wanted to. I just don't get it. It's a shame that it took so many people in NOLA perishing and the ensuing debacle (people still in FEMA trailers - years afterwards) for people to notice and call for FEMA's reform... and the reform stiiiiiiill isn't done.

The ONLY reform for FEMA is to be disbanded. It used to be that the local community helped its own. Why would ANYONE still ever believe; "We're from the Government, and we're here to help"???

I still think FEMA is the BIG DOG for establishment & control of the upcoming police action within the US when the wheels roll off the economy and martial law is ordered - it'll be for our own good of course.

FEMA official: Fake news conference conflicts with core values
December 12th, 2007 http://tinyurl.com/2dwl8y
A top Federal Emergency Management Agency official who has been criticized for leading a fake news conference at the agency in October told a panel of senators he did not know the event was staged.
Vice Adm. Harvey Johnson, who has served as acting deputy administrator at FEMA since leaving the Coast Guard in April 2006, testified that although five of the six questions asked during the briefing were from members of his staff, it was not until he received an e-mail from a reporter two days later that he realized the Oct. 23 event was a set-up. http://federaltimes.com/index.php...

The Shock Doctrine: Naomi Klein on the Rise of Disaster Capitalism
http://tinyurl.com/2aqdqh September 17th, 2007
Pinochet's coup in Chile. The massacre in Tiananmen Square. The collapse of the Soviet Union. September 11th, 2001. The war on Iraq. The Asian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. Award-winning investigative journalist Naomi Klein brings together all of these world-changing events in her new book, "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism." In her first national broadcast interview since the publication of "The Shock Doctrine," Klein joins us in our firehouse studio for the hour. Klein writes, "The history of the contemporary free market was written in shocks." She argues that "Some of the most infamous human rights violations of the past thirty-five years, which have tended to be viewed as sadistic acts carried out by anti-democratic regimes, were in fact either committed with the deliberate intent of terrorizing the public or actively harnessed to prepare the ground for the introduction of radical free-market reforms

Government 'blocks' Katrina probe
White House Declines to Provide Storm Papers
January 25, 2006 http://tinyurl.com/ys34hh
WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 - The Bush administration, citing the confidentiality of executive branch communications, said Tuesday that it did not plan to turn over certain documents about Hurricane Katrina or make senior White House officials available for sworn testimony before two Congressional committees investigating the storm response.
The White House this week also formally notified Representative Richard H. Baker, Republican of Louisiana, that it would not support his legislation creating a federally financed reconstruction program for the state that would bail out homeowners and mortgage lenders. Many Louisiana officials consider the bill crucial to recovery, but administration officials said the state would have to use community development money appropriated by Congress.

I want to warn people about the trailers and their horrible effects on children and others who stay there, when it is harmful to their health. I called my parents' new house "the sick house" for a long time - didn't say it to them -- and now I think it was the chemicals in rugs and wallcoverings, etc. But a child or a disabled person, or poor and otherwise homeless person, or many old people, don't have a choice. Please help them get out of those trailers! pdamerica is so full of excellent information and sources - I tend to think the general message of those comments mount up, toward a case for impeachment at most. But for that, every single detail would have to be investigated, documented, etc., and there would be obstruction from the White House every step along the way. So we have to admit there isn't time - except in one circumstance. If as much as possible can be documented, including the obstructions which make it impossible to get the facts, then if - maybe when?- some incident happens --(equivalent to the Saturday Night Massacre, when Cox was fired as special prosecutor by Nixon) there would be a dense background of suspicion, sparked by popular outrage about something-or-other -(--sex would be the best bet, my cynical self advises--what do folk know about Bohemian Grove, other allegations?), then much quicker action could be taken, maybe to head off a major bombing of Iran, for example, perhaps with Bush in cahoots with Israeli attacks by some "renegade" air unit? Fema and Katrina are a major part of that "dense" background --(part of the pattern and practice of "incompetence" at best, and most likely, also, profits-for-Bushie-pals at the expense of suffering for ordinary folks.) It is also Exhibit A for the global warming warning that hurricanes will be bigger and badder (not necessarily more frequent, or occurring every year in a similar pattern) on more occasions. As will rainstorms (as we had in Iowa.) Snowstorms. etc.
