good thing for me that i don't live or depend on the valley services any more. too bad for you that you do.
your valley will be right up there with moreno valley very shortly, the so called political leaders are pulling a city of bell on you right in front of your faces, depending solely on your lack of interest to let them get away with it, and making themselves a tidy bundle in the process.
you'd be better off with howard tongate running the place than the better dressed, grinning criminals that are doing so now.
oh well, have a nice day with your new living conditions!
i guess i'll have to repost this little ditty on topix, where all of nine people will see it, preferring to have five thousand posts on important topics like plastic grocery bags and gay marriage, leaving their very living conditions to be hacked up by the prancing charlatans already robbing them openly, since this house organ will give this post an expiration date of immediately.
you think i'm kidding? you really think paying the city manager of moreno valley 400K is reasonable? for running a city the size of of moreno valley, with all it's fabulous energy and fiscal contributions to the world? last time i checked, that's what you pay the friggin president of the united states to run the whole country.
oh, that's right. i'm just a negative little person, eh?
bend over, valley.... here it comes, in spades. these people are going to make rizzo proud.

The grass is always greener on the other side--just ask San Jacinto how happy they are with their RSO service/cost ratio!
How about the BROKE city of Hemet DOESN'T spend another 100k to line the pockets of someone's friend/relative, and stick with what we have--proven to be the best available in study after study, year after year!
Get a clue, folks! Watch the money trail!

"you'd be better off with howard tongate running the place than the better dressed, grinning criminals that are doing so now."
So true, george brown. So true...

Now there will be yet ANOTHER study to compare the cost of Hemet's waste program versus contracting out? I thought that was what THIS study was to determine!
And this one is expected to take 18 months! How much more will THAT cost?
It seems quite simple to me. You look at Hemet solid waste dept's yearly profit or loss. Then you ask competeing "contract" companies how much they will charge yearly for THE SAME services. Then you ask Hemet solid waste dept to meet or beat the offer from the contractors. If they cannot, you contract out to the lowest bidder who will provide the SAME SERVICES!
Then, if you contract out, you hope and pray that the contractor does not raise their price, or cut their services after the first contract period is up.(Like RSO has done to every community they took over! "either pay more, or receive reduced service".)
As it stands now, the citizens of Hemet would have to vote to approve a rate increase by Hemet solid waste. You will not have that luxury with a contract company. They can charge whatever they want. Their current rates are already considerably higher than Hemet resdidents are paying now. And all the "freebies" the city's own solid waste dept provides now will cost extra with a contract company. Like picking up after parades, etc, missed/late pickups, and "specials" week.
Just some points to ponder.
Can anyone tell me exactly what CR&R, Waste Management and Hemet solid waste charge per month for residential service? It would be nice to make a "real world" comparison.

heres a newsflash for you, wtf: the bigwigs "running" the city stand to make quite a nicr chunk of change for themselves by "managing the transition" of "contracting out city services". if you watched the council presentation today, as i did, you would likely be as slack jawed in amazement as i was at the third grade level pack of raw lies, twisted and incomplete facts, and absolutely unvarnished greed displayed by your wonderful elected officials. absolutely astounding. robert rizzo has less gall than these assembled clowns.
i read somewhere on here that someone brought up the idea of dropping a dime to the irs. pretty good idea, since it's always about follow the money, and the irs should be pretty good at that. i wonder if the delightful duo of john and ken would be interested, would give them more heads on a stick.
where's mr. toungate on this? has he finally gotten his cut as well for his silence? everybody has their price? i heard that there were several big fish sons of the valley signed up on the payroll of at least one of the private companies standing to take millions away from the city's ability to support its public safety agencies, i wonder how they'll fare under the glare of impending investigation?
aren't you a little tired of seeing big wigs rip off the public? enron, lincoln savings, madoff?

Couldn't be at the council meeting--had to work. So what you are saying is there are kickback payments in government? Yeah, I already knew that. It's still amazing to me how so many people (sheeple?) can be misled by elected officials, especially on a local level. Every concerned citizen should attend city council meetings, myself included. I will make a point of taking time off for the Hemet city council meetings in the future.....

you're right as rain, wtf; corruption, theft on a grand scale, deception and manipulation is quite the norm, people voluntarily being sheeple is the crooks best friend.
sad, sad that you have to take time off to keep an eye on these dirty so called leaders, obviously TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR isn't enough for them, ask rizzo or nakamura or any of that lot. they have to rob you by selling whatever assets you have and taking their little commissions.
this town will rue the day it let its police be sold out, tell you that!

Today I was told that when the "consulting company" that did the research on contracting trash (R3 Environmental) announced to the city council that they would be better off contracting out, Jerry Franchville raised his hand and said "aye", as if it was time to vote already! I guess the money not yet in his pocket is making him a bit giddy!
I guess we now know where at least some of the payoff is going! I wonder how the other council members felt at that moment?
"Relax, Jerry! You are going to blow it for all of us!"
More on "mayor" Franchville--is he still with Riverside County Sherrif's Office? If so, would that not be a conflict of interests? YOU BET--especially when it comes to contracting police services to RSO!
Wher are the DA and feds? If they think San Jacinto smelled funny, they need to get a whiff of the situation in Hemet! How do we get them involved in an investigation?
From what I hear, Nakamura has contracted trash to Waste Management at every city he has managed. Is this true? I will start researching......
And when the city workers union subpeonas the report from R3 Environmental, which they will, we will hopefully find out the truth. That truth being that Hemet's solid waste dept MAKES money for the city to the tune of $3 million a year! They are not able to cover their own operating costs, the report would have you believe. This is simply NOT TRUE! The only way Hemet's refuse dept would lose money is if the city took their funds to bolster the general fund, which is EXACTLY what happened and is still going on!
As far as the "aging fleet" goes, if the refuse dept could keep the city from raiding it's funds, there would be money for an equipment replacement account!
Hemet residents need to know the facts. I also believe that they should have the right to vote on keeping refuse dept in house, or contracting out. As it stands, they would have to vote for Hemet's refuse dept to raise their rates. Citizens will not have that luxury with an outside contractor.
Concerned citizens of Hemet need to start contacting their council members and ask the for the TRUTH about what they are trying to pull off!
Attending ALL council meetings would be a good idea also, just to let council know who they represent, and that council is to act in the best interest of the citizens, not the enrichment of their own bank accounts!
Please, people, get informed! We do not need 30 plus more laid-off people (refuse dept) in Hemet.
Follow the money. This is a blatant power and money grab attempt by city council and manager, no more, no less!

No matter what the monetary cost of contracting San jacinto to RSO, look at the crime rate. It is down SIGNIFICANTLY. The numbers do not lie. San jacinto is better now than it ever was. Thanks to RSO and all the feet on the street. It is EXACTLY what hemet needs. Contract to RSO. Save Hemet. These criminals know there are not enough officers to handle the crime...therefore they take advantage.
#13 Aug 15, 2012
I'm all about fighting crime, but how will contracting out Hemet PD to RSO accomplish anything?
There were things going on at the old San Jacinto PD that ARE NOT going on at Hemet PD.
BTW, haven't you read about all the serious crimes that have recently occurred in & near downtown SJ and the area by the Wal-Mart?
And about the cost, if you think RSO will provide more staff for less money, think again.
