People do not need assault weapons: defense secretary

Jan 17, 2013 Full story: Reuters 4,995

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta joined the gun control debate on Thursday when he told troops at a military base in Italy that only soldiers needed armor-piercing bullets or assault weapons.

That would never have happened had Martin brought his drug concoction LEAN with him instead of going out in the rain to buy Arizona Watermelon Fruit Juice Cocktail and Skittles. The only thing missing was the cough syrup and there is a great song titled "Two out of Three Aion't Bad."
Recently it was revealed that Martin's girlfriend was caught in a lie. Bummer!
So your position now is Zimmerman was law enforcement?

And had a legal and lawful right to stop him?

I must have missed that part. Guess the prosecutor, defense and even Zimmerman missed that too.

You'd better go tell them so they can enter it. And make sure you get credit for the "find" son.

You would have to be an idiot to take an unloaded weapon with you unless you have a really deep voice and can convincingly yell "bang, bang" real loud. Since I don't have a particularly deep voice my Springfield XDM has 13 in the mag and one in the chamber. It has a deep voice.
Why would you have to be an idiot son?

Oop! There goes that argument. Facts usurping your opinion. I never said it was illegal. But he did take his loaded weapon with him when all he had to do was stay in his vehicle.
Yes, Zimmerman had a license to carry. I've never argued that point but for some reason, you people believe it's some sort of "immunity" license. I could be wrong but I don't think it is.
His NH Watch program was unofficial and self declared, but was certainly condoned by the HOA.
I don't need to proved Zimmerman didn't shoot in self defense. That's his claim. It's HIS job to show that.
The prosecution just needs to prove their case, not prove the defense's. That's how an adversarial court system works.
Besides, as I've said numerous times, I'm just interesting in see justice run its course. So your ASSIGNING me a position of convicting Zimmerman is your problem, not mine.
I hope you realize that the dispatcher was not a sworn law enforcement officer so it will not be anything other then a suggestion.

I would have taken the dispatcher's advice but that has no bearing on this case .

Thank you for proving my point. He FOLLOWED him. Following someone is not necessarily the same thing as "chasing" them. And if you have listened to the tape, you can definitely tell that he was NOT running when he answered the question. So you can take "chasing" and put it back from whence you grabbed it....up your ass.
<quoted text>
So. It wasn't illegal for him to get out of his truck either. It wasn't illegal to FOLLOW him. It wasn't illegal to ask him questions. It WAS illegal for Martin to break Zimmerman's nose then jump on him and pound his head into the concrete for simply being asked a question. And that may be Zimmerman's claim, but the physical evidence backs his claim 100%, with no evidence or witnesses to the contrary.
<quoted text>
Wrong again. The prosecution only has to raise reasonable doubt to what the prosecution presents. And reasonable doubt to 2nd degree murder has already been established. There are eye witnesses to back Zimmerman's claims. There is physical evidence which corroborates his claims. The prosecution has even admitted that they do not know who started the physical altercation between the two. Hell, even their star witness, the girlfriend, has already been caught lying under oath. The prosecution had better have some very convincing evidence they are keeping from the public, or Zimmerman will walk, and all you will be able to do is sit back and cry about it.
Now with all that being said, if he is in fact guilty, I hope they do have enough evidence to convict him. But with all the evidence in his favor, even a first-year law student could get him an acquittal. Sucks to be Martin.
He followed him with a loaded weapon after Martin left running.

You people keep focusing in on single, separate segments instead of looking at the whole picture and make a declarative statement.

You can be convicted of manslaughter and not do anything illegal until you actually kill someone.

So I still don't understand what point you're driving at.

Do you?

Aircraft, tanks, naval ships and the such are tools of States, individual arms are the tools of free people. Therefore an F-86 is not expected to be owned by an individual.

People don't need assaual rifles, they aren't neccessary. I like guns but people should not have AK's and other such guns. People can't live in peace with those type of weapons being on the street. This is one of the few ways we can help maintain safety in this land.

Fine.

Then YOU explain why O'Mara has decided to skip the syg hearing and instead go to trial.

Since you're so "right," it should be simple to show why O'Mara is such an idiot to take a chance with a jury instead of simply nipping this thing in the bud early and easy and save everyone a whole bunch of time and money.

He MUST have the same information YOU do, right?

Fine. The defense can make it a point at trial.

But as NHW CAPTAIN, Zimmerman would have known that, right? After all, he's shown to have many contacts and many calls to the "police department" did he not?

You seem to be inventing your own argument. How do you know Zimmerman "stopped" him? If you know something the rest of us do not, feel free to be a Topix witness for the prosecution.

One should always heed the advise of a 911 operator because they know best.

A Denver man who called 911 to report a threatening road-rage encounter reluctantly followed a 911 dispatcher's order to return to the scene of the crime, where he was fatally shot while waiting for police.

Your own source says he's guessing son.

And what you failed to do was point out his statements were taken from an NBC interview, and not only is he a criminal attorney, but an NRA gun instructor.

As usual, you take only the parts you like and skip the rest.

I do not know of any requirements for training.

There are many points to this but neighborhood watch programs started because crime over ran police resources to deal with the problem.

As a Condo president many times I felt the aggravation that came with the job was my fault for volunteering.

If I would have had to take classes on civics and condominium law I would not have volunteered.

Look at how many police who in spite of training make mistakes.

It is easy to be a Monday morning quarterback but many decisions in life are made in seconds and sometimes you can only hope for the best.
