Bob Costas should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY for injecting his BS anti-gun opinion into an NFL game. If we had wanted to hear any of that nonsense we would have tuned into MSNBC. I suppose if the gigantic NFL player had STRANGLED his wife in a steroid fueled rage instead of shot her, Bob would have been cool with that. I am sick and tired of all the political BS being injected by every 2 bit know-it-all on the planet. It is not the NFL's place to comment on something that they know NOTHING ABOUT...

Fire Costas. When Americans should be standing together against those that want to take away our rights as Americans he hi-jacks America's game to spread anti-American garbage. He and all the other socialist liberals need to be removed from all influential positions. Me and my family won't be tuning in to any more NBC trash

Jimmy the Greek was fire immediately for what he say some years ago. If NBC does not fire Bob Costas, it will show their true agenda for liberal causes and against conservatism.
Boycott any game he's announcing.
Better stand up now; this administration wants to take your rights away in this last term. Rail against Bob Costas, and show it will not easily be done.

. You are dead wrong. What if an gun armed attacker broke into your house looking to rape and murder your wife and kids. What are you going to do? Call 911 then fend of attack with your phone. Not in my house. He wouldn't make it past the landing

I recognize the problem you mention. Criminals have an easy time getting guns. There's no denying that. But instead of allowing just anyone to have a gun (including nutcases), I would support much stiffer penalties for crimes committed with guns. I would also want to close loopholes that allow adult criminals to hand their guns off to kids, who then get no more than a slap on the wrist.

In any case, I think the outrage over Bob Costas' comments is baloney. He should not be penalized for speaking his mind. Pro-gun people will not change their minds based on what he said.

And even fewer would be killed if cars were banned in our society. You guys are complete morons. At what point do you draw the line with gun control? You can't control everyone, everywhere, all of the time - no matter what your government tells you or tries to force down your throat. Guns kill far fewer people than cars, prescription drugs, and doctors every year in our country. Let's start banning those things as well. Idiots......

With people like you, I would even ban spitballs.

Listen, dimbulb, cars and doctors are not intended for the purpose of harming others. Guns are. And no one believes that banning guns will stop the killing. There are many ways to kill. The point is to reduce those options, and lower the number of maimings and fatalities.

. I have no problem with people speaking there minds. It's called the first amendment. Costas has no right to try and blame a unthinking piece of equipment for what a crazy sooped up on dope madman does. People need to be held accountable for their actions but should not be penalized for their second amendment rights of self preservation. I don't advocate murder or gun violence but there are plenty of nut jobs in the world that do that's why our wise founding fathers implemented the amendments into the constitution so the lawful could have their rights protected. It makes me sick to think that the people wanting to strip those rights are in positions to influance our next generation into such communist beliefs

Costas should be fired or NBC needs to get out of the sports broadcasting business. I wanted to watch football, not hear someone's personal agenda being imposed on others. I will do my best to avoid NBC in the future and will never again watch another Costas game. I am sick and tired of sportscasters (or is it the network?) broadcasting their own politics. I tuned in to watch football!!! Get it?

Just two points:
- The second amendment was written at the time of the American Revolution, when the possibility of domestic military aggression was not a paranoid idea;
- Your equating of gun control with communism makes me wonder why I'm responding to you at all.

You'd better hope there are no games on the Fox network.

You obviously don't know that gun control is a socialist action. You might like gun control, thats your opinion but it is a socialist idea.

If we've gotten to a point where we think we can blindly trust the government to do whats best for us and they can do no harm, we are at a very scary point. hope there aren't to many sheeple. Challenge yourself to open mindedly see if the other side has a fair point. Otherwise good luck with socialism

Another inane piece of commentary from the left. Want to save MORE people? BAN CARS...... CARS kill far more people than firearms every year. People have legs, they can walk to where they need to go. Bring back the horse. Not to mention it will curtail all that global warming crap you people whine about. Yeah, ban those murderous cars and save lives.

I really don't care about labels, but I guess programs like Social Security and Medicare would also be socialist. Woe unto our seniors without these programs.

If you are one of those people who believe we are being threatened militarily by our own government, you are one of the better arguments in favor of gun control.

. Typical socialist response. If we didn't have an armed society for all these years it would have been easy for America to be taken by comi dictatorship just look at Mexico and all the innocent unarmed citizens that are killed every day by the corrupt dictatorship that's in office there. It's still taking American rights if that's not communism I don't know what is. Take off your blinders before America turns into a socialist country and your freedom to make your own decisions in daily life is further jeprodized

Any chance of seeing Costas on a FOX channel after this is pretty slim. He just became even more unpopular than President Obama. What a Putz. ha ha ha ha ha

Bob Costas is openly promoting actions contrary to our nation's Bill of Rights. If he had promoted slavery, or criticized women's right to vote, he'd be out of a job. Such is the Liberal's distorted view of Civil Rights.

When a Right is convenient to them, they yammer and whine about about their free speech, freedom from religion, free press.... but the moment a Right is inconvenient to their New World Order (2nd, 4th, 9th, 10th), then they have no problem treading on other people's Rights.

Underlying all “gun control” ideology is this one belief.”“Private citizens don’t need firearms because the police will protect them from crime.” That belief is both false and dangerous for two reasons.
First, the police cannot and do not protect everyone from crime. Second, the government and the police in most localities owe no legal duty to protect individuals from criminal attack. When it comes to deterring crime and defending against criminals, individuals are ultimately responsible for themselves and their loved ones. Depending solely on police emergency response means relying on the telephone as the only defensive tool. Too often, citizens in trouble dial 911 ... and die.

To reply to your questions:

- Rather than kill for my food, I prefer going to the supermarket.

- If a madman came into my house with a gun, I think the chances of my family dying would probably increase if I went for my gun.
