"Huh" or should I say "Duh" you are incorrect again. So sorry that you have not a clue what you are talking about. The part of the ski area that belongs to the forest service is from the Gondola Lift Line to the north (right) which is the lion share of the ski area. That's the original part of the Sierra Ski Resort. That's why the gondola was so old and just replaced this year. It was the original equip. I can educate you on the ski area. I work their. Can I get anything right. Not in your world.

We simply cannot allow the Indians to have land management of our forest.
Consider their history, millions of Indians lived on this continent for thousands of years and look how they screwed up things. When white man first landed here he was faced with so many trees that he simply could not see the forest, the skies were so clear that he had premature face aging from squinting and sleep deprivation from so many stars lighting up the night sky. The waterways were full of fish and you know what fish do, yeah, they defecate where they swim polluting the the rivers and lakes and streams. And the great plains covered with buffalo chips, those poor settlers constantly having to clean their shoes, that's why it took so long to cross the country and you know buffalo gals don't come home tonight when you got poopy boots.
I'd just like to say thank god we don't have any of those problems now.

Everything from chair 6, Apache bowl, north is on forest service land. Everything south is reservation. Chair 6 was built just inside the reservation line so as to not have to meet certain construction items required by the forest service when it was going to be built. If you follow that line, then chair 8 and elk lodge are just inside the reservation as well. There actually use to be a barb wire fence you could come across in the trees off of elk ridge. Capitan and all of lower deep freeze is on forest service land. The gondola line is not even close to the southern edge of forest service land. I suggest you go over to forest service and look at the maps. I worked there for many years, especially when all these lifts were being built.

Huh or should I say "Duh" you are so completely lost it's almost funny. The gondola the New Arrow, I am sure you don't know what that is. But it runs from the Lodge at the bottom of ski apache to 11,400 to the top. From the Gondola,(you can look that up so you will understand what I am referring to) to the right or North is all National Forest. That is the original ski area that used to be called Sierra Blanca Ski Resort. When the person who built it and owned it out of Roswell put it in. Ok stay with me Duh,oops I mean Huh, same thing. Everything to your left was developed since the Mescalero Apache Tribe bought out the original owner and leased the land from the Forest Service back in the early 1970's. It's a 99 yr lease. So the majority of ski runs if you ski or can read (a map) you will see are on the North Side of the Ski Apache. Which is why they ran water to blow snow to the top of the mountain on that side. Its not subjected to the sun shine as much and the snow stays. No it was not burned nearly to the extent as the other side of the mountain. I am exhausted trying to clear things up for u. You have no idea. Will wait for your incorrect response again. Looking forward to it. By Duh

Your wrong on where the reservation line is. Go to goggle maps and follow the line of chair 6 to see the actuall reservation line. Capitan is on forest service not reservation but according to you since it is south of the gondola it is on reservation. You are just wrong.

I skied there when we rode t-bars up capitan and Lincoln as well as the beginner area. Capitan was part of the original area. Sorry I have skied there since the sixties.

You are 100 % correct Rights about Capitan and the ramp. I wasn't thinking, considering those two. I stand corrected. I have never rode T-bars anywhere and am glad. I enjoy sitting. Lol Thanks for pointing that out. Have skied here since the 70's.

"I Agree"....the tribe purchased Sierra Blanca Ski Resort from Robert O. Anderson (who built the resort)int the early 1960's. "Ole Joe", cudo's to you for pointing out that all "Forest Service" is "Public" land, which many, including the Forest Service, have forgotten!
