According to Harry Reid a single payer system(socialism) is the goal. No American in their right mind wants that. It has been proven socialism doesn't work. Just ask some of the other countries that are now moving towards conservatism.
I am from Canada, I know 1st hand about universal health care, and I would never want your health care system, EVER. Every other modern democratic society has universal health care, in one form or another, and it does work! Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc. think the USA is completely backwards in terms of your health care.

I don't disagree that our healthcare system needs to be fixed. What I don't agree with is the direction this program is going (socialism),along with the amount of jobs lost and hours cut already because of this monstrosity. There are better ways of dealing with this problem without this train wreck being shoved down our throats.

all your relatives but 3 are conservative GOP....Are you trying to say this is a genetic thing...research$
You are so cute. A statistical break down like that would be an impossibility. Most likely some of the noy so conservatives nod and mumble. It could be that some of the undecideds avoid you, and politics...
I think my family is more typical amongst the teens apathy reigns supreme.
The adults are maybe split into thirds with the Democrats slightly more than independents...
you aren't likely to win..no exaggeration.

Thanks for participating...
1)...Please define socialism....

2) The single payer which is almost socialism...is the most efficient system..statistics do not lie

3) The GOP has known this was a priority of the President..they knew he would act...
Why 5 years later is it that the GOP has no alternate solution ...The default option that a defunding brings is the system that you agree is broken.
The fact that the GOP has not developed an alternative, that will work better, for less money. Maybe they dont have one. or no intention of meeting the goals of covering as many citizens as possible?

Socialism keeps people down, while capitalism enables people to have the freedom to achieve anything they want. No American in their right mind wants the government involved in their healthcare or any other aspect of their lives.

That's right. I don't want the government making sure I have clean drinking water. Nothing wrong with letting large corporations dump their waste products into the water supply. I don't want the government building roads, we can walk where we need to go. I don't want the government telling big corporations they can't form monopolies to charge outrageous prices for everything I need to stay alive. Why shouldn't one family get all the wealth of our nation? Why should the government be involved in education? Let the propagandists tell us what we need to know.

We need to work hard to make sure we have less government than Somalia. They have really low taxes there. If there are pirates off our coasts, let other nations take care of it.

So you all support the ACA since it was approved by Congress, signed by the President, and upheld by the Supreme Court...right?

Senator Cruz should have read the 4,700 page Obama care bill. That would have given us some idea what the Democrats have done. Not one Republican voted for Obama care, so when you get screwed with the new rules, remember who gave you this mess. You will pay double, and triple premiums, and with your new part time job it will be tough. But hey, keep voting Democrat, and we can all be on the dole. Then who will pay for our free ride?
sorry but you are an imbecilic troglodyte, lots of republicans voted for National Healthcare, after all it is a conservative idea! Obamacare is for those that do not have health insurance not for those who already have it! Imagine how awesome the roll-out of Obamacare would be if Ted Cruz and the right-wing opposition groups spent the amount of time and resources on improving the law or helping the transition instead of their ostentatious grandstanding!

As I had previously posted, I like the idea of being able to purchase insurance in other states where it might be cheaper, torte reform might help. I am no expert but the ideas the GOP put out there are a good start.
I would like to see a bipartisan effort to resolve this.

Sandy you failed to accurately define socialism
The actual definition is when the government owns and controls the means of wealth production
during the course of this discussion we have heard opponents of ACA bring up the realistic observation that there isn't enough over sight to prevent companies from exploiting the program. The fact that companies would be able to operate independently enough from Gov't controls to cause this worry tells you why i asked this question.
Socialism in American politics is an epitaph a curse word that has been thrown around recklessly since Obama was sworn in. I assume you to be a fair person and that you would look into ACA and honestly tell us if it fits the definition of Socialism.
Your opposition seems to be based on genuine concerns that you are hanging the wrong word on. The more clarity that you post with the more productive the reply...
Your posts lead me to believe that you are here for more than an exchange of poorly chosen insults
