"Self described owner of several local businesses"

Talk about a vague statement. Can anyone name them?

He's a joke. Maybe next time we have a race we should field as many candidates that are living on a houseboat on probation at 25 yrs old. He is going to get embarrased.

The article in the Cherokee Tribune is even better. The person filing the challenge says he is either not eligible or committed voter fraud.

Or maybe it's both. Plus he still isn't actually registered where he lives. After watching the video of him speaking last week, I guess Melanie Collier told him to qualify and leave the state so he wouldn't be around to answer questions.

Oh...and does he actually own anything, or is he just living off of Daddy's success? It's hard to take someone that young seriously when he obviously hasn't actually accomplished anything on his own.

Daddy doesn't own either. The dealership is in Mama's name; but funded by a silent partner.

Are we sure it's a houseboat and not a van down by the river?

Heck, he is out of state.. Isn't he in a race that will begin early voting in a few weeks. Seems if he was serious about this he would be here. As far as the Tribune, it has a declining readership. Dena Berry from Berry marketing is a flop too. She would be better off selling cars at Kia.

Wrong again. You people need to check the FACTS!

"Local attorney Jeff Watkins is the franchisee, The Daily Tribune News reports.

"We’re moving forward quickly trying to get to a point where we can start construction sometime in November and then hopefully have it open around March, weather permitting," Watkins told the newspaper."

Just because he is the local franchises doesn't mean he owns it by himself does it?

Next time you are there just ask who hired them or who writes their checks. Robby even built it with his construction company.

What you quoted from the paper may be accurate but is not the whole story.

Jeff is the franchisee which means he holds the franchise alone, single, his.

His name is on everything I've seen as owner.

Whether or not he borrowed money or he and Stewart have a holding company is another story; but Jeff owns the Steak n Shake franchise for Cartersville GA

Remember this started because some dipstick said that Matt Laughridge owned it?

Mr. Laughridge has explained himself (or rather, Melanie Collier and the family lawyer wrote up an explanation).

http://cartersville.patch.com/groups/election...

It is incredibly arrogant. If home is where he hangs his hat, why did he register to vote at the Peeples Valley house just last month...since he admits he actually lives in the boat? Don't we sign an affidavit when we vote that the address on file is indeed our residence? This is a criminal offense. He needs to be either tossed from the ballot or prosecuted for voter fraud, or both.

The good thing is, looks like most voters aren't buying his stupid story. Voters want someone ethical. That means he has to follow all the same rules as everyone else. Last time I checked, people wanted ethics reform. That starts with tossing ineligible candidates, not looking the other way.

I only have one address. I bet most of you do too. He can claim three different ones in less than a year, with his voter registration and his DUI. Sounds rather confused and unstable to me. He needs to grow up first and figure out his life before he gets to be my voice at the state legislature.

Here is a link to the application you fill out when you register to vote. It asks you to swear under penalty of law that you live at the registered address.

So either Laughridge is trying to pull one over on the voters, or he's not smart enough to know what it all means. Or he's used to getting away with doing whatever he wants because his parents will use their $$ to get him what he wants.

The other was for absentee ballot, all the links that tell you he broke the law are on the Secretary of State's website.
