If we left no matter when There will still be fighting..It's a civil war the Shia and suni have been fighting for 1000s of years. How arrogant we are to believe we can stop it by throwing money at it.
They will fight on and on the only difference is we will be saving America Billions of Dollars that we spend on the war. Then maybe we can get some things done here on the homefront. Infrastructure repair.. Crime...Taxes .ETc

The U.S. needs a solid excuse to secure our oil futures. We are spreading kindness and democracy throughout the oil region. We Christianized the American Indians the same old way. This is nothing new.

What's evil about eating tofu?
You are seriously close minded, and truly full of stereotypes. So what if those are someone's preference.
Sounds more like you are from the trailer park, to me.
sad.
I agree with everything you said except eating tofu. Tofu is evil.

Somewhere out in cyberspace is a four thousand word answer to your post. I'm going to summerize it for you, over the past twenty eight years during the twenty years of Rep. in the White House the Reps. have out borrowed Dems. by a margin of 2.5 to 1.0. The two most massive shifts of wealth have occured under St. Ronald Reagan and GW Bush. Reagans policies took us from being the worlds largest creditor nation to being the worlds largest debtor nation. The debt under Reagan increased from 1 trillion to 2.6 trillion, and the Reps. were in controll of the Senate for six of his eight years in congress so dont blame the Dem. congress. Bush has added more than twice that amount to the debt and it's still growing, and again the Rep. have been in control of congress for most of his reign. The gap between those at the top and those at the bottom is wider than ever and growing. Wages are once again stagnant, job creation under bush has been a bad joke, especially compared to the Clinton years. The facts indicate that Dems are much better at managing the economy and that Dem policies promote a general growth of the economy, from the bottom to top, not a shift from the bottom to the top. Borrow and Spend is much more harmful than pay as you go spending and both parties need to stop the wasteful earmarks.

No doubt those calling Obama a racist were all for the Iraq war after 9-11 when I, a Austin peace activist since Viet Nam, was out at the Crawford ranch walking past screaming hateful pro-Bush Texans to join the peace protestors before and after the invasion of Iraq. As a white male I find white racist violent minded white men to be foolish slaves of the fascist billionaires who are pulling down the middle and lower classes. The corrupt white slave masters always did try to split the poor whites from the poor blacks to maintain their corrupt economic policies and poor white folk are still being fooled that way. As a Kucinich man I have no illusions about Hillary or Obama being free of billionaire control but Obama is a calm not hateful man in contrast to the often hateful power hungry Hillary and the unbalanced rage-addicted McCain. Obama is the best choice we have, those who support the Republicans will have many lifetimes in war torn worlds until they learn the lesson that we are all interrelated
I have to agree with you about people being slaves to the billionaires. Every election I watch people vote against their own best interests and for the interests of the top five per cent of us. They dont need a congress or President to help them, we do. This most recent sellout of the nation under the Bush administration may be irreversible. The number of lobbiests has more than doubled during the past seven plus years and the special interests have a stangle hold on the government at evey level and still people won't vote to change it and are more concerned about the BS issues than what really is important. Here'e a news flash, the main stream media that focuses our attention on BS instead of important issues is a big business, they have been allowed to consolidate into a few massive entities and have become part of the problem not part of the solution.

As Corrupt As They Come wrote:
<quoted text>
Not to mention John Howard being one of Bush's staunchest supporters when it came to invading Iraq. Lest we forget.
Australia began as a penal colony, all convicts. Now we just call it a regular country, which just reinforces the point I made earlier. If there's nothing to contrast with corruption, then what is corrupt?
Yes, lest we forget. The (former) leadership of my country sent us into the most disgraceful war in 40 years for the very transparent lies of the leadership of yours. We must never forget how readily people swallowed those lies (15% here before the invasion, 70% support after the invasion).

But on the corruption thing, please see again the post above about objective standards. Comparison does not corruption make.

And 1) Australia was never 'all convicts'. Please to be actually learning the history of my country before pontificating.

2) The United States was also used as a British penal colony, for three hundred years before Australia was discovered by Europeans (see for example the entire reason for the state of Georgia. Please to be learning the history of your own country). And it practised slavery for 400 years. Now we call it just a regular country (actually, we don't often. Norway or Sweden or Australia or New Zealand or Germany or the United Arab Emirates or Canada is a 'regular' country. The US is somewhat more extreme in terms of religious belief, crime, poverty, war etc. than those).

But none of that has any relevance to US corruption. Or Australian. It's not the past but the present awarding no-tender contracts to friends and consistently lying that makes the US government corrupt. And the Howard Government's past tolerance of corrupt business practice (AWB) and support for the lies for the invasion that made it corrupt.

classic case of "you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours". no surprises here.

i'm just upset that the democrat chickens didn't impeach bush and cheney as soon as they got hold of the majority in congress. such a golden opportunity lost.

(and before you naysayers go off on a tangent---NO--you do not need 2/3 to impeach. you need a simple majority. an impeachment can serve as a symbolic motion to show the rest of the world that we recognize bush and co were corrupt).

I was curious and found this link. The whole text was not read by me yet. There might be more solar radiation now. I heard something about animals being effected at the poles with solar radiation issues. Now Canadians are seeming to be also effected if the effects of the sun are that great.
I enjoy the radiation from the sun and usually soak it up.

Bush is no conservative, I don’t care what he thinks or says. True conservative believe in smaller government not BIG HUGE CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, right now there are no conservatives in Washington, at best their either mutes or moderates.
I agree with you that Bush is not a conservative and for the party that preached small government the adopted Libertarian is closer to the goal than most Republican politicians to that goal.
Either the present party fades or there needs to be a significant shift in their supporting goals.
I am however a progressive and mostly support the Democratic party agenda.
I'd like a third viable party which has a goal to promotes consumer safety and also promotes less intrusion into people's lives. Basically, leave me alone and I will leave you alone. As long as you don't rip me off, I will not care what you want to do if it does not damage others either.
