Dismayed wrote: <quoted text> IF you've ever had a job of any supervisory, executive, or corporate experience, you learn quickly that it is not appropriate to use terms that may be perceived as sexual harrassment. Human Resources Departments give classes on it. And that includes the South! I AM a professional and I am well aware of what you are describing, but there are HUGE cultural differences within our country. I own my own business and can specifically tell you that you would be percieved as "snobby" here if you didn't use these terms. These are NOT words which have any sexual context whatsoever. Of course, you already know that if you use them for your own child.

Why can't he ever answer questions or talk candidly, it always has to be in a well planned out speech. This guy is a zilch without that. What do you mean? He repeatedly answers questions about policy. I have only seem him dodge one question, and that was regarding and event that had just happened. He stated he needed more information to make an informed response. And then we have McCain who needs Lieberman to help him keep Sunnis and Shiite straight.

Then why is Obama grabbing the vote of those with college degrees according to the polls such as Gallup poll? Obama already has a 7 point lead on McCain

Born and raised by others who were born and raised by people who came legally through Ellis Island and fully assimilated and have a great life. What is it that you THINK that I should look up that isn't out there clearly? It's all what I mentioned and is reality.

McCain has Obama by two points in the Gallup, but is losing to Obama by 7 in the Quinnipiac and ABC Poll; losing by 5 to Obama is the POS/GQR Poll; and losing by 6 to Obama in the LA poll. The average polling has Obama ahead by nearly 4 points; and that has been with McCain campaigning for the general election while Obama has still had to deal with Clinton. Yes, I do think the whole sweetie thing is ridiculous. Gee, do we want to talk about the tank the U.S. economy is in or shall we talk about the next President calling a reporter sweetie. Given that Huckabee just made an assassination joke about Obama while standing along side McCain, I think the focus of attention might be changing now.

Chi-town me wrote: <quoted text> Haha, well, sure if McCain had done this the media would've been all over it. However you state it as though since Obama did it they wouldn't. And in the end you do realize you're posting this on a major newspapers blog. So, your insinuations of liberal hypocrisy are false,,, and kind of funny in an ironic kind of way too. There is a big difference between a users posting in a forum and major front page coverage and being on TV. If you cannot understand that.....

Peggy with her hair often dishelved, probably hasn't been complimented in a long time.
Her station is known for their attack interviews to try and catch someone into making a statement while off guard and then using it againist them.
The US auto industry has to rescue itself. For her to shout a question and focus on one industry in a state that is suffering due to just that myopic stance is troubling.
Peggy sweetie, go comb your hair.
Next time, ask about expanding 21st century technology in Michigan

I think what the Democratic dust settles, then we are going to see true colors. My opinion is that we have just begun to see the Wright/Ayers/Guns and Religion comments. I think it's going to get a lot worse. I had said on another thread that even though everyone hated Bush and the war, he still managed to get re-elected. Kerry was too far left. I think average, hard working America has a problem with far, far left politics. I am a Democrat and I have problems with gay marriage, partial birth abortions and income re-distribution.(Well......may be I'm not exactly a Democrat anymore) I will have to check out the Huckabee comment. I actually like(d) him.

This process of micro analyzing every comment and then jumping/piling on if it seems at all controversial or insensative. Get the heck over it. Who allowed these media types to establish a standard regarding what is apprpriate? They have nothing better to do.
This so much a non starter I wonder why I'm commenting- other then to banish this kind of thing forever. Obama meant nothing by his offhand term of endearment. What a bunch of hot air from anyone offended.
if you want to be offended then look at the price of gas and tell me what is this country's energy policy? How and which way(s) are we going to make ourselves energy self sufficient?
Bush has dissapointed me so deeply that I am thinking of crossing over and voting Democrat if McCain does not explain completely his vision of eergy and self reliance.
I wish a couple of reportewrs I see on TV would call me sweetie...
