Bush to Lift Executive Ban on Offshore Drilling

President George W. Bush planned to lift a ban on oil exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf on Monday as part of an effort to ease record high oil prices, the White House said.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Bush was acting because the Democratic-led Congress had failed to do so since he urged lawmakers last month to lift restrictions on offshore drilling, a move strongly opposed by environmentalists.

This idiot still thinks that more oil will keep his buddies and handlers in the petroleum industry from wanting to continue to rake in record profits.

We don't need more leases. We need production from existing leases first.

So far all comments are from the liberal lefists - the envoronmentalist nuts and homosexuals.

They don't want any oil drilling here because it might uproot a certain specie of gnat or some rare crab grass.

Did those holes deep Mr Bush, and then shove the liberals into them. Perhaps they will produce some raunchy oil in a million years.

President Bush proved that he is one of the greatest American presidents that were able to defeat the Islamic terrorists and...in addition the US anti-American liberal socialist Dems in one of the most crucial time for the American people.
While the corrupt and pro radical Islamic US Congress is holding the American people as hostages to the radical Islamic and socialistic regimes of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Venezuela that aim at destroying US economy and defeat US troops in the Middle East, President Bush was determined to save US economy from the liberals and was right to lift the 18 years ban on off-shore oil drilling.
President Bush historical lifting the ban on off shore drilling of the black ‘gold’ is a great present of trillions of dollars annually to the American people and especially to state that will drill off shore and enjoy annual windfall income of billions of dollars from the black gold in the off shore, instead of sending the billions of dollars to Putin, Ahmadinajad, Chavez and King Abdullah that use it to arm the Islamic terrorists with WMDs.
Thank you president Bush for defeating the US drunken sailor radical liberal socialist Congressmen and Congresswomen led by Schumer, Barack, Hillary and Pelosi that disgracefully seek the destruction of US economy before the coming elections that will be good news to the anti-American liberals.

Idiot…? The drunken idiots that you refer to are obviously the America hating Senators Barack, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer and Hillary that support the interest of the radical Islamic regimes that send them monthly checks for preventing US oil production.
However, these liberals are losers and Bush defeated them time and again.
Get over it!!! Most of the American people do love America unlike the liberal socialistic Dems and care for the future and dynasty of America as a great nation.
President Bush was successful in defeating US worst enemies in the Middle east and now he is defeating the anti-American liberals that tie the hands of the American people behind their back only to serve the interests of the worst enemies of America.
Liberals led by the pro-Islamic Barack will be defeated in the coming elections only because they serve the interests of the radical Islamic regimes of Iran and Saudi Arabia, their Islamic terrorist organizations and the socialistic regimes of Russia and Venezuela.

Insanity is believing that if it takes 10 years to fix a problem, starting to fix it is bad judgment.

Drill Baby Drill!! This should force the DemocRats to take some sort of action. Obamas energy plan; control your home temp in the summer/winter, tell us what type of cars we can drive and we can't drill for more oil here at home. If you remember Barack was not upset with the high oil prices; he was only sorry the prices when up so high so quickly. According to the Dems oil makes us sick, coal makes us sick and both damage he environment. Nothing like a sound energy plan.

Where is the blame on Bush andd his money/oil grubbing family? He'll be well paid for this as for everything he has done while in office.

This is a good move. Congress is deliberately not acting on fixing the problem with oil futures trading. They spread dis-information, like the person above who says we ought to make them drill on existing leases. In fact, we already do that. If they don't drill in 10 years they lose the lease according to current law.

Let's see if you can understand this. A lease must be in place for the oil companies to explore the region. It goes to reason, that viable oil deposits are not available in all the leases and there is no way to know this in advance. Do you think if there was viable oil in these existing leases the oil companies would leave it there? It is significantly cheaper to drill oil than to buy it. Wouldn't the 'evil' oil companies want to make even more 'evil' profit?
Drill here, drill now, pay less.

If Cuba is drilling US oil why can't we? I think we should be self suffcient. We drill and keep our oil and our food. Let the other countries see just how much we feed them. we eat our rice they drink their oil'
