To begin with, this should be a tax on "tobacco products." Secondly, Barbour knows not to fund any part of Medicaid with a tax - or tax hike - because he as governor appoints the head of Medicaid who is usually an overpaid political minority figure. The last one, then two, didn't stay. They had made such a ness they had to bail out before they were blamed. The employees of Medicaid, as in most state agencies now, are overpaid, unqualified minorities. An employee called me last Saturday for information on my Medicaid file because they were two years behind in their work. When I applied for medicaid 6 years ago, I would never have received any benefits even though all the information was in their computer, had I not known who to go to, where to go and had the transportation and ability to get there. When I moved to Brandon, my address was wrong in the computer. It was corrected 'twice,' but this last call showed there was still an error. This region now has a nice, new building that is inconvenient get to but the agency still needs additional funds. Just fire the whole kit and kaboodle and start the qualifying and evaluating process all over again.

While his star rose, fell and rose again in the US, Hasselhoff remained rather popular in much of Europe. His music was more popular there than in the US. His European popularity was met with disbelief and friendly teasing in the United States, and later exaggerated for comedic effect. For example, Norm MacDonald was known for stating on numerous occasions that "Germans love David Hasselhoff" on Saturday Night Live, and the theme is alluded to in the film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story where Hasselhoff is shown as the demanding coach of the German team.
