Good and thoughtful column, though it doesn't mention Simmons as a direct opposite of Dodd. While he may not have statewide name recognition now, Simmons is a tireless campaigner and relies more on hard work and vigorous campaigning than negative advertising. As the saying goes: "It ain't negative if it's true." Dodd will whine when Simmons comes after him on his many, many missteps. Simmons did the same thing with then-incumbent Sam Gejdenson, a long-entrenched Democrat in a Democratic district. Gejdenson, like Dodd, had moved out of his district, had lost touch with the voters, had become more concerned with his Washington image than his Connecticut image ... and, ultimately, he paid for it. So will Dodd.

Chris Dodd is a disgrace to CT and to the nation. What has he done of consequence for this state? Brought his share of the pork home? Good God, haven't we had enough of politicians that go to Washington for decades in order to line their own pockets at taxpayer expense?
Let Dodd become the poster boy for term limits and let us, the sane, reasonable people of CT get rid of every single one of our elected bozos in Washington. They're bankrupting us, our children and our children's children while stamping all over our Constitution. Enough is enough. We have got to stand up for our country before it's too late.

Come on, people of Connecticut, time for another Dodd to visit the ethics committee.

If you are inclined to protest Senator Dodd's re-election, Dodd Flea invites you to the next round of Tea Parties in Connecticut. Tax Day, April 15, will see over a thousand nation-wide. Three are planned in Connecticut.
Norwich, New Haven and Hartford will host the "protests". If you have never attended a Tea Party before, come on out and have some fun. It is just like a baseball game, but you get to verbally bat your frustrations as do hundreds of other like-minded citizens.

Aren't these tea parties a little like shutting the barn door after the cows escaped?

The pork has already been approved. The only way to stop it is to not pay any taxes you might have owed in 2008, and to declare "exempt" immediately on your W-4 to stop further raping of your paycheck.

Of course, for those of us who are independent contractors and don't file, it will be business as usual, tea or no tea.

Dodd should move to IL. With a resume like his (packed with improprieties, no credibility with financials) and a "D" next to his name, he'll probably get 90% of the vote.

Why should he move? He'll get close to that right here in CT when it comes down to it. Just watch.
