Alaskans have mixed reactions to Stevens' case

Poor strategy led to Stevens losing his re-election bid. Given how close the election was only a couple weeks after multiple felony convictions, it is very likely that he would have won if only under indictment.

This is another example of the Bush Justice Department's ineptness. IMHO, to paint Stevens as a victim is incorrect, but he can spend his retirement without the threat of jail time.
