Without explaining what this evidence was its hard to speak on the subject , But a few questions come to mind ,(1) Why is the AG reviewing old convictions ? and is this the norm ? Is he reviewing every conviction by the Bush Justice dept ?(2) Does the AG have the authority to summarily dismiss a conviction by jury ? I thought that is what the appeals process was for. And if the USAG has this authority do states AGs have the same authority ? Something smells of better than thou to me .

We the people are due an explination.
I'd guess it has to do with Palin, as she also had a similar problem with the same contractors.

""...They said they will not seek a new trial...""

WTH?
By-golly, iffin it was John-Q-Public that stepped out of line and they withheld chit in court, then they would be all over it. All politicians are corrupt, some just more than others---

What kind of deal was made by REPUG senators/congressmen to protect one of their own? This crook should spend the rest of his sorry life in prison, right along side Bush and Cheney.

Eric Holder is the AG now and he believes in pardons. He worked to pardon 16 members OFALN involved in 130 bombings and got a pardon for Marc Rich. He also works tirelessly to disarm the American citizen.

I do not know but my experience is when people think and act as you do cannot be trusted because they are very dishonest and lack integrity.

"very dishonest and lack integrity"? You have facts to back up your slanderous acussations? Senato Stevens and just about every other REPUG politician is dishonest and lack integrity, those are facts! This probably has more to do with Sarah Palin using the same people to have her home built for free as she prepared to give the $16 million Sports Areana contract to the very same people. A town of 6-7K people with an expensive Sports Areana the people didn't want. Like the road to nowhere she built with money she said she didn't want and gave back. Like the fraudulent use of perdiem by Sarah, stealing over $17K from the taxpayers and not including it as income. REPUGs are protecting Sarah by making a deal on Stevens, it will be interesting to find out what the deal is. Anyway, your comments have no merit, just the meanderings of an old fool!

Seems as though the Bush Justice Department withheld a memo where Stevens told the contractor to make sure he paid for everything! Typical GONZO, withholding evidence. Why did they want Stevens out, glad they did, but why?
