If only he'd been around to stand up against Bush, huh? ;)
I would be happy to replace Obama with Bush or even the cigar fondling "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" Clinton would be better than the disaster we now have.

Rand Paul is a marvelous step towards the future.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU RAND PAUL.

I'd be happy to replace you with fertilizer. At least fertilizer serves a purpose.

Rand Paul is a marvelous step toward the Ice Age. Still I must admit that your post is funnier than mine.

Even with your 11,005 comments as I type, you're lying in 50% of them, just plain wrong in 45%, and completely ignorant in the remaining 5%. You're damned right you can't convince people. Your comments are for those who already agree with you, like patty and larry.

How many of you EVER spoke a word against Bush for all these things and worse? WHo condemned the Patriot Act, the Iraq War, the illegal wiretaps, the extraordinary renditions for torture, Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, deaths of civilians, ANY of that?
I condemn it ALL no matter WHO'S guilty. Dem or Repub, makes no difference. This country's a violent criminal bullying the world AND its own people, as far as I'm concerned.

And straight from a republicant's mouth -

"To my Republican colleagues, I don't remember any of you coming down here suggesting that President Bush was going to kill anybody with a drone," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in remarks on the Senate floor.

Graham displayed a sign that showed the number of Americans killed in the U.S. by Al Qaeda -- 2,958 -- versus the number killed by drones, which is zero.

Maybe it is because Bush would have never seeked the legality of attacking american citizens on American soil, nor leaving an Ambassador and others to die in a far off land by going to beddy by.

And i6t shows how ignorant those people are. Samir Khan, Anwar al-Awlaqi, and Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, are all US citizens born in the US. Abdulrahman al-Awlaki who was born and raised in the US and just 16 years old. The Obama administration and the heads of agencies under his control went around for weeks talking about how they were justified in killing him with a drone strike while people complained that the constitutional right of due process was ignored.

Had those three people not have been killed by drones under the administrations executive control, I could agree with you. However, as this was unfolding, the administration also announced it's plans to use the drones over the US and would not clearly comment on the constitutionality of killing US citizens by drone strike without due process or the legality of it- but insisting it was magically justified in doing so previously.

This filibuster was not a spur of the moment thing either. Several congressmen including Rand Paul have written letters to the DOJ and the Administration requesting them to clarify the legal issues surrounding it and what they thought the obligation to law was concerning it. Those letters were ignored and in one case, publicly ridiculed by the white house chief of staff when asked about it. Because of Rand Paul's stunt, because of other senators who actually held Holder to the fire in a related situation, we know know that the US government's official position is that drones cannot be used to kill Americans on US soil unless an identifiable and articulate-able imminent threat to life is present- just like the discretion used by police officers but not like the "there he is, lets kill him because hes da terrorist" that was used in the killing of US citizens in Yemen by drone strike.

Had you, or McCain or Graham payed attention to what was being said during the filibuster, you would have known about all that.

Interesting, how wanting to spend less than you make, rather than borrowing money to maintain a standard of living you can't afford....is considered an archaic and outdated notion that cannot work.
I've heard it said that the inability to put off short term pleasures for long term gains is a result of a lack of intelligence.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation
