Clash of Texas political titans looms

Nov 11, 2013 Full story: Politico 49

Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Rick Perry are both angling to run for president. And the prospect of a clash between the two Texas-sized egos who represent different eras of the GOP and who aren't openly rivals but haven't betrayed warm fuzzies for one another, either has tongues wagging.

Didn't do too well, you may be understating it. Perry came in to the process as a potential nominee, his crash and burn was amazingly quick.
Do you expect Cruz to do any better?

these are political titans?!? maybe in Texas, but that really doesn't speak well of that state...

All it took for Perry to be knocked out for people to hear him speak in one debate.

Cruz won't make it past the Iowa straw poll

Oh crap! I was hoping that Texas would
secede from the Union and we wouldn't have
to ever hear of these two tea-party

This could be a fun cage match. Cruz would lead with his famous scowl and delusions of grandeur, while Perry would stick to the more traditional Tea Party approach, painful stupidity. A race to the bottom if there ever was one.

It is too bad that this battle isn't being fought with something sharper than these gentlemen's wits.

Perry and Cruz..... this is going to be great...... After the previous two Republican Primary battles, this one could get Pay Per View ratings better than anything the UFC can produce.

Perry is one of the primary reasons the GOP has been reduced to the butt of jokes around the nation.

Can you vision Perry, Cruz and Christie debating on stage....... Hilarious!!!!!!!! The RNC should consider hosting this even at Radio City Music Hall..... classic fodder.

The Republican Debates are shaping up to be a classic, better than the first season of SNL with John Belushi

Definitely worth clearing space in the DVR

did you miss the last presidential election cycle?

the only conservative they had, Huntsman, was tossed out before it began and then it was one idiot after another being the darling of the for a month before their spotlight showed them to be even more batshit crazy than the last one.

it ended with little Ricky Santorum who had openly stated he wanted to turn the US into a theocracy.(for you idiots like little jimmy, this is a country ruled by a religious cult. just look at the muslim nations that are theocracies, or the past christian cult ruled nations to see how well this works. it failed the same way no matter which sect of this cult ruled...)

yes, it would be a popcorn worthy event, and the tears you would cry for your nation would salt your popcorn for you...

Tweedledum and Tweedledee?

Seriously? must be a slow day at the news office for someone to bring up a clash between these two jokes.

One is clearly representing the ignorant and stupid in Perry and Cruz is representing the delusional and insane.

The real headline should be "How low will the Republican party go?"
