No matter how private someone always finds your information. We need to take steps of our own to protect what little privacy is left. I was a target not that long ago who knows what my future will be but i am more cautious.

I can attest to the Social Security Administration not being on top of the game. Close friends of ours had twin boys, now about to turn 3. When they ordered the boys' SS#'s, as required by law in order to file Federal Income Taxes (I'd love to post about that!), one of the boys never received their number and packet in the mail. Parents waited a while, then called SS, only to be told that there was nothing to be done, they do not kill and/or re-issue SS#'s - no matter that children's ID theft is extremely high. So, parents now have had to jump through hoop after hoop with the credit reporting agencies to start the 18 year wait and watch of their one son's personal identification. This has them so frustrated and angry, and no one will help them. They are left to watch and hope that no one actually stole their one son's ID, all because the Social Security Administration will not kill the number first issued to the child. Side note: Parents know that may not be all that is needed to protect their son, but it would be a very strong start.
