Kansas Lawmaker Fears Assassination From Gays Seeking "Superior Rights"

There are 60 comments on the www.queerty.com story from Oct 22, 2012, titled Kansas Lawmaker Fears Assassination From Gays Seeking "Superior Rights". In it, www.queerty.com reports that:

State Rep. Jan Pauls might have sponsored Kansas’ ban on same-sex marriage, but its her own life and liberty she fears for. “I have friends who have told me they worry that I’ll be another Gabby Giffords, literally,” the conservative Democrat told the Kansas City Star.

Gays don't generally kill straight folk.
However the reverse is not true.
The lack of response to HIV/AIDS in the late 70's and early 80's killed THOUSANDS of gay people. And if you want to get more individual who could forget Matthew Sheppard and let's not even talk about the number of gay teens killing themselves because they are bullied unmercifully by kind and gentle straight folk.
Jan Paul is simply trying to demonize gays - she a combination of a bully and chicken little. The only she is afraid of is losing at the polls so she's inventing an issue.
She an elephant in a donkey suit and she ought to take to suit off and switch parties and be true to herself.
She fighting FOR discrimination. That makes her stupid and mean but it's not worthy of death.
More and more patriotic Democrats (few there are) are standing up to your agenda and showing you for what you are. Liberal fascists who tolerate no dissent.

Rep. Pauls is right to be afraid.

She's upset about something that occurred SIX years ago? Did you even bother to read the article? Damned fool.

Here's what really happened: "Witt says Pauls is rewriting history: He was there, he admits, but just to calm the real agitator down.

“She came and stood right outside the door of the LGBT caucus. A guy named Larry Hurlbert went out into the hallway to confront her about the horrible things she said about gays. I heard him say,‘I’m gonna give her a piece of my mind!’?”

Witt said Hurlbert hardly got past the room’s doorway, the yelling lasted maybe 30 seconds. Several caucus members dragged him back in, and no balcony was closer than 10 yards.

No, but I'm sure the television stations in Los Angeles would have archived videos of their news broadcasts. There is the possibility gays would have been able to "clean" those archives, like they've been able to "clean" the NPR archives of prime time interviews with infected gays bragging about their "over a thousand anonymous trysts."
Until you support them with links, how is anyone supposed to take such accusations seriously?

You must remember, or perhaps you didn't know, I was there.

Why do you keep repeating that nonsense when you KNOW it isn't true. We tolerate dissent. We don't tolerate LIES. That's why I'm on you like stink on shit.

Oh puh-leez. Even a stupid, illiterate hayseed like you has to realize that gay people have exquisite taste. You hide your IP because you're a chicken-shit little coward from East Armpit.

This poor woman has learned two lessons .
1) She is in the wrong party
2) Her own base will turn on her and go after her as dems are prone to do, to silence anyone who dare think for themselves.
"With queer terrorists putting Pauls in their crosshairs, her husband, Ron, has stepped up as a kind of personal bodyguard. And his distaste for the lavender set is even more profound than hers:“Homosexuals don’t love,” Ron says.“Homosexuals are all about the sex… Not love.”"
The state needs to give her protection and arrest those who threaten her safety.
This is one Dem I would support but I would advice her to look at the GOP because we embrace difference of opinions and will not silence anyone who disagree.
I'm sorry but after reading your post my retching is interfering with my oncoming coma.

The GOP silences EVERYONE who disagrees with them. And now they're trying to steal another election by putting all these voter ID laws in place to solve a problem that ever they admit doesn't exist.

I challenge this crackpot to show any tangible evidence that any gay person is credibly threatening her.

The only terrorists here are the wacko radical right GOP/Tea Party fanatics who want to control every part of our lives.

Your compulsive use of caps shows that dyslexia is not the only disorder you suffer from.

Lavender curtains? I have smart taupe shades for the bigger windows, taupe accordion style shades on the other widows, that can be lifted from the top or bottom, and 4 inch slat white plantation shutters on the patio and deck doors.

Stop lying about me. Besides, yesterday was my birthday and the rules are that you must be NICE to a person on his birthday, and the week before and after. My rules, but ones I insist upon.

The condo board here wanted new furniture in the club house and all those biddies on the board came RUNNING to me for suggestions. I suggested long low brown sofas and white chairs, and a fine looking carpet and sharp looking low tables and long cream colored curtains to soften the tall windows and they followed my advice to the letter, that even surprised me how EASY they agreed.

It took one Middle aged Queer to do the work of 6 dithering women. NEVER send an unclear woman in to do a GAY'S work.

How lovely and moving.

I have absolutely NO problem with the word "Queer", in fact, I embrace it. It is a word made powerless by the pretty much universal acceptance by the gay and lesbian community. Recall a little show that was wildly popular a few years ago? "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? Don't think that there was not a lot of study groups and meetings on that title. I thought it brilliant and brave.

Around the same time HBO released "Queer As Folk", not quite so fun of a show, but equally powerful in its titling.

BTW, completely off topic...is the Silent Movie theater still in El Segundo? I used to go there a lot in my Redondo Beach days.
