I'm a lot brighter than you are.

This paragraph mentions immigration, but I am quite able to read and comprehend the last sentence, making this article not related to immigration whatsoever.

The pickup truck incident and the phoned-in threat to Brownback's office came the same day a Kansas House committee opened three days of hearings on several bills designed to crack down on illegal immigration. Later, several hundred people rallied outside the Statehouse to protest such policies and others pursued by Brownback and his fellow Republicans. However, authorities said neither incident was connected to the rally.

They have already determined that neither the incident this article is about, nor the other incident mentioned were connected to the immigration rally. Thus, that takes away any chance of this being related to immigration. If they hadn't already determined whether or not it was related, fine, but they already did.

Apparently comprehension is not your forte.
