Nah. Its just that we understand the U.S. better than most. For example, you are probalby thinking that you live in a democracy (actually its a republic) and that you get to vote in honest elections (they are NOT binding on states and the state sends the electors of ITS choosing) I find it amusing that so few U.S. posters actually know that much about their own country. They get caught up in deliberate distortions and misinfromation and none of them will spend the time to learn anything but the current propaganda.
Republic or Representative Democracy it's the same. The Electoral College is only for the Presidential elections.

See? Totally ignorant about politics and the U.S. system.

Not even on the State level is there a democratic election based on plurality. And in many cases the states can override the 'public polls' or what you call 'elections' at will.

As well, there are cases where elected representatives and senators have gone to Washington which then refused to admit them to office. There was even a recent example that STILL doesn't clue you in. See Blagovitches sale of the senate seat formerly held by Obama..

Not to mention simple election rigging. Nowhere in the world are elections as fraught with manipulation as in the U.S.. ok, maybe Iran..

You might have a point, we don't have to show photo ID to vote, unlike Canada.

We need to shore up our voting registration system, suffrage is one thing, vote fraud another. We need to reject dumb ideas, like climate change mitigation or allowing the government further control of the health care industry.
