Congress better be nice to China, since they basically own our country. Hope they don't decide to cash in all the Treasury bonds they bought.

Odd, last time I checked the facts-American businesses jumped ship here to make more profits over seas. America is going yo get "tough" on trade with China?! Hahahaha!!! Thata funny. This butthole president has made this country so spineless and weak but he and his smelly cabinet of crooks and loons are going to act strong against a country that is one day going to dethrone this country as the #1 economy, not to mention the billions we borrowed (such as president Osama's Flopulis bill) from them and Japan?!

Jeez, Mr. Osama, please fire yourself because I wish I could.

I agree with most of post #3. It is not China that has caused America jobs, it is this Globalist Business Cabal that runs Congress and most of the other world governments. Congress needs to re-asssert itself into the governance of the Country and make it unprofitable for the globalist cabal to circumvent policies which enhances the life and welfare of The Nation and enriches their bottom lines. What profits a Nation That gains The World, but loses its National Identity and Its Soul!

This is too funny. The criminals in DC are trying to close the barn doors after the horses ran away. It's all over for Uhmerikwa. We need to break it up into ethnically oriented areas and hang the traitors who caused us so much misery.

I wonder what would happen if China did decide to cash in? What is the collateral behind these bonds?
Suppose, if the bonds were worthless because of inflation or something, the Chinese start taking public lands such as Yellowstone National Park. They then decide that they need a lot of lumber and chop down all the trees. I know this is probably absurd or is it?

Its already law. China owns our land. It was passed without voter approval. It was the only way China would lend us money. Gee thanks congress.

I really don't expect China to try to cash it all in, since the U.S. is their biggest customer. If they bankrupt our nation, they've got no one to buy their products.

The conventional wisdom seems to be that Obama would crank up the printing presses and pay the debt with inflated currency.

Not really.

Inflation has held pretty low since Reagan was president.

If Obama tries to monetize the debt you'll know it by the runaway inflation it will cause.

Hey, you foaming Nazi wag, "if" you can read a map, you'll note Israel is just a tiny spec of land, with 5 million people. But be assured they are a Superpower, and America's ally. To bad you were born in the new age. For you should have been in the box, during the "Nuremburg Trials" at the end of World War Two.

Not absurd from the western viewpoint,'cause that's how they'd do it, had they the chance. But, that's not the Chinese Way. We're businessmen, and business is best when everybody gets a good deal and walks away happy, even in dealing with aggressive savage barbarians

I think US accounts for about 12% of our exports, and shrinking. Which only makes sense. If you had a customer about to go bankrupt wouldn't you?
