Senate rejects Republican attempt to ban earmarks

The Senate voted Tuesday to reject a Republican attempt to ban earmarks, in a vote that saw more than a half a dozen Republicans break with their party's self-imposed ban on the practice.

it wasnt just cochran.senators collins,murkoski, voinovich,inhofe,lugar,shelby and whitehouse all claim to be republicans but voted with dems on keeping earmarks,another name for pork spending.each state wants a special piece of the pie but the tax payers cant afford this any more.this old you vote for my bill with pork attached and i will vote for your bill with pork attached needs to be stopped.get back to voting for bills with no strings attached period!
