Yaaaaaa!!!!!! more jobs.... Oh wait, no more Engineering and Rocket Science jobs, that they will prob hire out of state or even country to fill.
Mr Tommy Battle,
When are you going to help the poor and unworking in Huntsville? You need to hire me to be an advocate for the poor that you don't seem to be addressing......... It is time for change. It is time for Huntsville to be for all it's residents, not just the rich who work for aerospace and Redstone Arsenal.

Hooray! This is good news for our country that Democrats and Republicans can work together on a compromise and that our space program should now wisely be more well-rounded (instead of throwing such a large percentage of it at trying to accelerate "commercial" companies that just need to keep going along at the same pace they have been until there truly is a commercial market). We now may actually get to tell our children and grandchildren that our country is once again exploring new frontiers and going where no man has gone before!

As for the NASA Civilian and Contractor jobs that this bill saves, remember that those jobs create more jobs through innovation and spin-offs and they create jobs indirectly because all those salaries and health benefits (and income, sales, and property taxes) are spent here on earth! Not to mention all the high tech manufacturing that will be needed in order to produce a new vehicle sooner (test vehicles in next few years) as opposed to waiting until 2015 to start.

Way to go to all the Senators and Representatives working on this compromise on both sides of the house!!! Maybe the Obama Administration's space people (including the top 2 at NASA) will learn something from this experience.

Things would be much farther along and layoffs would have been avoided if they had coordinated with Congress from the start (and with their own NASA managers and engineers!)!

You do realize that NASA and RSA are the biggest employers in Madison Co., right? Anyway...yes, it's definitely time for a change. It's time people stopped looking to the government to solve their problems.

I guess if you didn't suck at life you could be a rich and famous Arsenal worker such as myself.

Well, there is always from whiner and "woe is me" in the crowd. Quit complaining and get motivated and perhaps YOU could get one of those careers that the "rich who work for aerospace and Redstone Arsenal" have.

Help the poor and unworking- what do you think the government is doing with all that welfare you people get....food stamps, benefits, unemployment. That is enough!! Get a job, or better yet, an education, and maybe you too can succeed in life!

Try helping yourself. I'm a high school drop out. Worked my way thru a lot of hard stuff for many years with no help from the government. I now work for an aerospace contracter making over $70k per year. You can do it too. If you'll quit whining and get off your lazy rear end.

Those of you with a rich and famous contractor or Redstone Arsenal job, must be in engineering. I have years of experience. I have a graduate degree. I still make less than a first year teacher with an undergraduate degree. I don't know the technique to getting a rich and famous Arsenal job. I was actually thinking I should go back and get the teaching degree because I typically work 9-10 hour days, 12 months a year, get paid FLAT salary - not overtime, do not get summers off, do not have $2 BC/BS, and have not been able to take my family on vacation in ten years. I also work for a contractor. I work off-site in the business area. Don't be fooled into thinking every one with a degree, with experience, supporting the Arsenal actually makes enough salary to cover basic expenses.
