The Hispanic crowd are frustrated because of the time it will take to become citizens. I'm confused here,,, wouldn't it take longer if they were deported and forced to apply in their own Country? Like the saying goes,"you don't know how good you have it, til you lose it. If I was Senator Bennet I would tell them to sit down , shut up and accept.

Sometimes when you whine, cry and demand,,, you lose the most.

This will initiative will potentially force them to become personally repsonsible for themselves and their families...it that something that they really want? I get the feeling if that were the case, they would have come in through the front door. They have lived a life of ignoring our laws, and I don't see them changing that attitude when we hand their their defacto amnesty.

but most of the time when you don't sit down and shut up and for the contrary you stand up and demand something that is fair, you can not get everything to be perfect, but you can get something done in order to make some old thinkings to shake, wake up and understand the necessity of some laws to be updated for the good of the country...
That if could be difficult get to a common sense approach,it doesn't mean is impossible,it just takes more effort to be done, than doing nothing and keep hiding this issue like the dirt under the carpet...

Exactly! It is time to stand up for a common sense approch to immigration reform and illegal immigration. It is time to realize that one has nothing to do with the other and that preventing immigration reform by demanding amnesty is counter productive. It is time to stand up and demand that the laws be enforced as written. It is time to stand up and demand that the immigration reform that was promised last time amnesty was granted be enforced. It is time to stand up and demand that criminals face punishment rather than reward. It is time to stand up for the honest immigrant and the honest citizen and make it easier for the honest immigrant and harder for the illegal alien.

Thank you Dee.I didn't want to bother.

Sometimes it's not worth repeating (the reasons/the facts)the same thing over and over again to no avail. It's like your talking to the wall. She/he has a way of thinking and no matter how much one attempts to explain they just don't get it.

Illegal aliens look at our government as a gumball machine. They put a vote in, they expect immediate results. It too African Americans approximately 100 years from Emancipation to Civil Rights Act!!!!

Do nothing, and keep hiding!!! You speak of "demanding something that is fair"?!!! I always get the giggles when illegal aliens, especially mexicans, want us to uphold a law or be "fair" in dealing with them and their "rights"! I go one better, you call our anti illegal alien thinking, "old thinkings" and that we need to...update our laws for the good of our country?!!!

You are truly insane! You think you illegal aliens are "good" for our country? If so, please explain the good that you see in our most populous illegal alien state, callie! That's a good start to enlighten us and make us more culturally sensitive to the illegal alien plight.
Please explain, through illegal alien eyes, why it is good that the education system in callie, which use to be the best is now 50th with MS? Please explain the closing of emergency rooms which were once state of the art, Also, explain to my old thinking, why, according to the Centers for Immigration Studies, at least 70% of hispanic illegal aliens are on welfare? cis.org Why is it to our advantage that approximately 50% of mexicans don't graduate high school...or that the teen pregnancy rate far outdistances other groups? Why is it that in FL, they had to lower the education standards for you so that you could graduate high school?
Come on, this is your big chance!

if instead of facing the problem of this outdated immigration system and fixing it for stopping criminals, but letting hard working people with good will of prosperity to come in certain kind of program that make them background checks, learn English and then place them in an area where they can be productive, but instead you want to keep the same outdated narrow and burdensome channels of immigration system since 20 years ago,to the growing numbers of people wanting to come here..then you'll have ilegal immigration...and hiding this fact doesn't help...

The only thing blocking what you suggest is amnesty. Our immigration system is the most liberal in the world and over 1 million people legally immigrate here legally every year. The problem is that the criminals are not being dealt with. Those who come here illegally and are now demanding amnesty along with those that support and exploit them are the ones blocking any reform for those who honest people who come here legally.

You know darn well that unlawful presence is a civil violation and not a criminal offense.

You also know that nobody since Reagan has ever proposed "amnesty".

When do lawbreaker's get breaks in this Country? When do Americans that steal people's identity and screw the Government get off scott free? We are never going to have control over this loss of our sovereign Country with politicians making laws that keep giving these criminals pass's. It unfair to all law abiding citizens and they will never gain the respect of true Americans because they simply took what did not belong to them. It's disgusting, outrageous and stupid.

Have you ever heard of John McCain?

“There are jobs that American workers simply won’t do,” McCain said.“As long as there’s a demand for workers, workers are going to come across.”

An amnesty program is vital to any immigration legislation that includes a guest-worker program, he said.

“Amnesty has to be an important part because there are people who have lived in this country for 20, 30 or 40 years, who have raised children here and pay taxes here and are not citizens. That has to be a component of it,” he said.“How can we have a temporary worker program if we’re not allowing people who have been here for 30 years to hold jobs here?”

Bullshit!!! The Dream Act is amnesty. If it were not, then if caught they would be deported. Amnesty doesn't necessarily mean that we have to give them citizenship.
