Key senator wants tax code overhaul to reduce deficits

There are 13 comments on the bostonherald.com story from Jun 11, 2012, titled Key senator wants tax code overhaul to reduce deficits. In it, bostonherald.com reports that:

An overhaul of the nation's tax code should raise additional revenue to reduce massive budget deficits and should help strengthen the economy, the Senate's top tax-writer said Monday.

Though he provided almost no detail, the stance by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., that rewriting tax laws should be a part of deficit reduction underscored the differences between the two parties. Many Republicans say a tax overhaul should involve lower rates and fewer tax loopholes without producing extra revenue to erase red ink.

Smaller government would AUTOMATICALLY reduce deficits, without the need to raise taxes.

Democrats are fiscally deprived. It's just the way it is. If they don't have republicans up their butts like Clinton did, the would give away the farm.

"Though he provided almost no detail,"

See, that's the thing. They ALL have a plan, but none of them knows what it is.

It is touching that you are so concerned with preserving "the rich."

Be sure that they are entirely capable in the short run.
In the long run, a USA without a strong middle-class will hurt the rich; but their present day greed is shrining the middle class.

The real way to reduce any deficit is for the Democrat Party to be reinvigorated with those inclined to mercilessly seek out all the Democrat cheaters and thieves scamming the current system, like their Democrat farmer base they've encouraged and maintained all these years with special incentives to rape the public coffers with false claims concerning their operations... a false middle class established by thievery and dishonesty. Go after the Democrat voters cheating welfare and SSI by working under the table and paying no taxes, while still getting their public funds. Go after the Democrat businesses using farm fuel on the highways to make a success of their cheating and thievery, while honest people fail because of the burdensome tax codes using them to support the actual cheats. Leftists are thieves.
