This Gent is putting his money where his mouth is. Some people send big $ away to timbuck-two, where by making people live longer and incressing birth rates they only make problems worse. Thank you, MR.Hansjorg!
PS/ That bold faced lie told about cattleman being good stewards of the land is for the most part pure bull. As a rule they've gotten a free or very low cost ride. Most of them have over used & abused the land. By doing that they raped taxpayers & lived up there pretty high on the hog.

That's nice, but this is just one problem to many fixable problems. We need to get china out of our water supplies, sucking us dry. We need to put more pressure on BP who is saying screw you America, because obama has BP ceo's in our govt. Incharge of the energy dept. They just choked off the warm water from the gulf reaching the north atlantic. This is a major deal. I'm for business to create jobs but I'm against the big business and govt. selling out our natural resources. Get china off our coast line drilling our oil. The people of America have common sense and know the answer when we hear the problem. Our govt can't figure anything out because they live for the all mighty dollar. Stand up against our idiots who run this country!!!!!!!!!!

Viele Danke!

I look at the posts above, and see 'free-market supporters' shitting on a 'free-market WINNER' giving a miniscule portion of his personal fortune, acquired in the 'free-market', towards preserving lands that allow wild animals more grazing lands... so these 'free-market supporters' can go HUNT THEM DOWN, and their words make it apparent that they are anything BUT grateful!

Talk about American conservatives' hypocrisy!

I wonder if he'll put is a 20,000 Sq Ft home in his forest that uses 15X the energy of other homes like Al Gore's?

Other than that, who really cares? Logging has come a long, long way and they replant the forests so this is hardly a big deal for the environment. He now has his own Hunting Reserve.

Bravo, well-done! Nice to see a rich man putting his money where his beliefs are, and supporting the natural world.

No surprise that a few noisy Righties are attacking him, that's what usually happens when the wealthy are seen as "traitors to their class" by this sort of poster. Look at their brutal, slanderous, and dishonest attacks on George Soros, for example.

Sick. But the positives here far outweigh these feeble negatives.

Global warming is a fact, and more trees can only be a good thing in regard to excessive CO2. Not sure what "schemes" you're babbling about, but blaming scientific fact on partisan politics is kinda loony.

For the TOOLS on the Fright Wing of Society:

"The deal is one of the largest private conservation purchases in U.S. history.... also involved $65 million from the state of Montana and $250 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture"

"While Wyss has a daughter in neighbouring Wyoming, he has never lived in the region. And the land he helped buy in the recent Montana transaction will not become a private estate."
