Good for them. Continue to blame firearms ownership instead of the true cause of the tragedy: Tech's inability or lack of desire to assist a troubled and alienated student.
Lets turn this into a political issue instead of dealing with the true cause. Way to go.

Va Tech has always had a problem with ethics.
No, that is an incorrect statement. It should read:
Va Tech has no ethics. Never has, never will.
Very similar to the anti-gun lobby. They can't think logically so they believe everyone else should be as deranged as they are.
20 years ago, Tech had a good reputation. Now, I am sorry to say, that is not the case.

Listen Up - There is NOTHING wrong with asking someone who's
purchasing a fire arm for a background check. If the prospective buyer
'doesn't want the check' then they clearly have something to hide. THAT
IS THE ISSUE.
You take a test and have a check to be licensed to drive a car.
You should be required to take a test, have a check and be licensed
to buy a gun.
These illegal gun show sellers are making MONEY OFF OF YOU. That's
all it is. Not about rights. It's about money.
It isn't about TAKING AWAY, its actually about ENSURING SAFETY FOR
GUN OWNERS AND CITIZENS ALIKE. Period.

And I know some of 'you' will take issue with the NY, NY in my post.
I was born and raised in Bburg, educated in VA public schools and attended
VT + VCU - so don't waste your time worrying about 'outsiders'. I'm more
'insider' than anyone posting here.

Li9sten up. The law does not require it same as buying a car.
Are you going to pay for it if I buy your gun? I am not.
Again, the law does not require it when the sale is between private citizens.

What a crock. The initial poster hit it on the head. Tech's elite alumni and administration want to pass the blame for Tech's failure to address a disturbed student... they simply didnt want to spend dollars or make an effort to assist him. Now they want to blame firearms ownership by the masses for their failure. Virginia politics at their worst. Pathetic
