"The higher fossil-fuel prices that could come with climate legislation would make it more competitive."

I have a solar-powered flashlight, but it never works when I need it.

LOL, I have a solar powered Tandy calculator that's nearly 30 years old and it still works, but I wouldn't fancy relying on a solar powered battery for much apart from that.

People are building solar powered systems for their homes for less than 400 dollars to eliminate overpricing of natural gas by suppliers in Ohio. Most are a combination of solar and wind systems. Most are homemade.

Maybe they could use Hamster power instead. Those little buggers have energy to spare. Solar, even homemade, is extremely expensive and grotesque. Most housing associations ban solar panels because of their gay appearance and potential for litigation. As for windmills...Green Acres is the place to be. Farm livin is the life for me. Land spreading out so far and wide. Keep Manhattan just gimmee that country side.

The tin-foil hatters are still deluded into pushing global warming.

"Green Jobs Goal is Complete Revolution Away From Gray Capitalism. We are going to push it and push it "...__VAN JONES

If you read and understood the previous quote, your only conclusion is that Climate

change and the Green movement is a big fake, You can NOT draw any other conclusion.

It's not nice to fool mother nature.

Don't get me wrong. I've been a proponent for clean energy AND less pollution in our water for 25 years. I just don't like being bullsh!tted by idiots and con artists.

I bet the Phillies aren't thinking WARMING today.

The same upfront costs have prevented homeowners from jumping on the solar bandwagon despite the tax credits, rebates and lower electricity bills.

Most of Shaw's customers can't afford to install enough solar to cover 100 percent of their homes' electricity needs, which is one reason why solar supplies just a fraction of the power the county needs.

The higher fossil-fuel prices that could come with climate legislation would make it more competitive.

"You can't drive an industry on people doing the right thing. The best thing for this country is if gas were $10 a gallon," said Shaw...WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT OBAMA WANTS TOO.

What a Maggot.

The problem with solar power is its not renewable. How do you renew the sun?

And damn if it doesn't get dark every night.

Homemade means two things; dangerous to users and illegal violation of building codes.

Natural gas used to be cheap until government environmental laws forced power plants to convert to gas and drive the price through the roof due to supply and demand.

The last professional solar installation I saw cost $48,000 for a solar system that provided house current for everything except AC. Not affordable for most people in the middle class and below.

Oh really? I'm really interested in that; in Florida we have sun all day,why this is not more widespread is beyond me.$400 for outfitting the entire home, or just for some things, like the heating system?

$48,000? that doesn't sound right; there was a family who outfitted their house here in Florida for around $7000, are you sure about that figure?

It stores the energy from the sun during the day.

Hi Frank,
That sounds good, as long as the lifespan of your panels is up to par. Good luck to you.
