Who would have thought? Publicly. "We must get rid of earmarks". Privately. "Unless their mine". Earmarks are the politicians "cash cow", to repay someone or are financially lucrative to them. If they didn't have them there would be no reason to go to "work" on the "peoples" behalf. B.S.

the majority of those republican earmarks were not only put in by the democrats who crafted the bill behind closed doors, but old earmarks that the original sponsor never tried to push thru.

of course, why would ANYONE want to know the whole story?

I don't see any Jackasscrats even trying to curtail Earmarks. The new repubs haven't even been sworn in yet.

We know some of the old guard repubs still have problems.
We know there's No hope for any of the Jackasscrats.
That about sums it up.

The incoming Repubs are the same phony conservative ones who infiltrated the GOP the last 10 years and skyrocketed the debt. The GOP had an opportunity to clean house but instead further embraced the far right phony conservatives.

Think our debt is bad now? Wait till the incoming class pork everything through and make deal with President Obama AND don't raise the taxes to cover the spending. Recession 2.0 here we come. Hopefully President Obama and the remaining Dems develop a spine and prevent the GOP/TEA pork from exceeding the revenue lost by the tax cuts.

You're so FOS - thr GOP is saying we're voting against earmarks, while they are piling hundreds of earmarks THEMSELVES, then claim WE'RE NOT VOTING FOR THIS BILL BECAUSE OF EARMAKS!

WTF is wrong with these guys, GOP included?

Boehner said 2 minutes ago "we have to curtail this out of control spending", but passes an 858 billion dollar package that adds to the national debt?

Are you really that high?

Boehner never added an earmark - that I will give him credit for - the rest of his AMIGOS in the GOP did the exact opposite - why didn't he talk to his fellow republicans and tell them "we have to lead by example"?

The problem is that Republicans have made the word "earmarks" a buzz word. The problem is with waistful earmarks which are also known as "pork". An "earmark is simply budgeting money to be spent in a specific way which is a duty assigned to Congress by the Constitution. If Congress does not earmark how money is to be spent then it will be left to the President as to how it gets spent. Is that what you want?

keep in mind that it is the same GOP that decried gay marriage and called for the preservation of the institution of marriage...but were toe-tapping in bathrooms (Larry Craig) and twice divorcing (Newt Gingrich).

with the Dems, I at least know what I am getting (they spend. they tax. that's what they do). with the GOP...i don't know if it is the lying that is worse or the hypocrisy.

Stop Lying.

Earmarks are a way to avoid publicly debating whether the National Tax Payers should pay for State and Local projects/perks that have No Benefit at ALL to them or the Nation as a Whole.

Those projects wouldn't stand the light of day such a Woodstock Museum in upstate NY for $1 Million Dollars. Who in the F**K wants to pay for that? No One!

Get it.

WHY LIE?

The Dems (Scumbag-0-crats) Controlling Congress with a handful of old school repubs Wrote the Bill. Obama Hussein negotiated 99% of it himself.

More House Dems Voted For this pork bill than repubs! The Dems still have the Numbers to Stop the Bill yet passed it along with No Problems whatsoever.

I suggest you look at your party. It stands for NOTHING Now. You just passed a bill your party promised it would Never Do! Never!

Is that you sh*tplate?

Your admission is funny.
1- You like Dems because they are always about More Taxes & More Spending.
2- You dislike the repubs because they don't spend as much and Tax Less.

It's confirmed! You are an Idiot.

I will raise CEO taxes, no doubt about it

Q: McCain is going to say you’re going to raise taxes.

A: I will raise CEO taxes. There is no doubt about it.

Q: What about the average American?

A: If you are a CEO in this country, you will probably pay more taxes. They won’t be prohibitively high. You’re going to be paying roughly what you paid in the ‘90s, when CEOs were doing just fine.

Q: So, you want to just eliminate the Bush tax cuts?

A: I want to eliminate the Bush tax cuts. And what I have said is, I will institute a middle-class tax cut. So, if you’re making $75,000, if you’re making $50,000 a year, you will see an extra $1,000 a year offsetting on your payroll tax.

Your spin is as lame as LaffingLIar's. When have Republicans ever seriously attacked the use of earmarks? Even the existing Tea Party Caucus members have been pushing earmarks through!

New Repubs, tea-baggers or not, will change nothing. Earmarks will continue as always, as will the lies and hypocrisy. Looks like your side's bought into it's OWN version of "hope & change," huh?

The Democrats had the Votes to Stop this Tax Rate bill full of Pork but instead had more House votes for it than Republicans!
