It's so sad and so typical of The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and other "frustrated control" organizations to use the blood of crime victims to further their own agendas.

But they don't care.

It makes no difference to them how many will die as a result of their policies.

They just don't care.

It's sad but true. Gun control only controls the law abiding.

The funny thing is, only 13 kids died at columbine, which in the big picture of things is not that many. Just as many could have been killed in a church van coming home from a revival in a perfectly "routine" highway traffic crash.

Regardless, we have to take a moment and realize that the US's largest killing at a school had nothing to do with guns and happened almost a half a century before Columbine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disa...

The Bath School disaster is the name given to three bombings in Bath Township, Michigan, USA, on May 18, 1927, which killed 45 people (38 grade-schoolers and 7 adults) and injured at least 58. Most of the victims were children in the second to sixth grades (712 years of age) attending the Bath Consolidated School. Their deaths constitute the deadliest act of mass murder in a school in U.S. history. The perpetrator was school board member Andrew Kehoe, who was upset by a property tax that had been levied to fund the construction of the school building. He blamed the additional tax for financial hardships which led to foreclosure proceedings against his farm. These events apparently provoked Kehoe to plan his attack.

On the morning of May 18, Kehoe first killed his wife, then set his farm buildings afire. As fire fighters arrived at the farm, an explosion devastated the north wing of the school building, killing many of the people inside. Kehoe used a detonator to ignite dynamite and hundreds of pounds of pyrotol which he had secretly planted inside the school over the course of many months. As rescuers started gathering at the school, Kehoe drove up, stopped, and detonated a bomb inside his shrapnel-filled vehicle, killing himself and the school superintendent, as well as killing and injuring several others. During the rescue efforts, searchers discovered an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of unexploded dynamite and pyrotol planted throughout the basement of the school's south wing.

Maybe it's like "Martin Luther King Boulevard" -- for some reason it's always the street that Rev. King would be LEAST proud of.

Well, if the dad wants his other kids to get killed in a helpless victim zone, to bad for his kids. As for my kid, I hope he kills any perp that shows up to murder innocents.

UNfortunately, NC is a backward state that prohibits the exercise of your rights in a school zone.

The shooters were probably bullied (IMO). They got revenge, and then people began blaming others (by bullying others).

Do you love your kid or kids ? Did you teach them to not bully students ? I did.

I told my kid he can respond if a person is overdoing it, but to not bully the weak. I told him it was okay to tease gays (keeping it light), but he could not ever say something that could incite others to harm them.

Teens are sensitive.

Bullying is a major cause of school shootings.

Revenge is mine sayeth the lord (bullshit). Some revenge is immoral, but not all revenge.

Remember the 9 and 11 year old that shot up a school (teachers and students )?

I remember a teacher helping 1st grade students bully a student. The victim was a snitch. Cops will encourage bullying at school if they know of a student who's parent does not lock their guns.

Yeah, more guns... sounds simple and easy. A solution that simple minds come up with. Can't we think of another way that doesn't get people killed? A way that doesn't have moms and dads explaining to little Timmy why a gun is in the glovebox? Surely USA can do better.

Andrew Kehoe = Tim McVeigh

Govt is always our worst enemy. I blame Kehoe and McVeigh, and govt for causing the trouble.

Govt is the worst bully. Kehoe killed innocent kids because govt imposed taxes destroyed his career. We are all semi-free because colonials hated excessive taxes. Today (again) our unlimited govt has become big enough to bully us by imposing excessive taxes (against our will).

Govt doesn't give a crap who dies, they just want their money.

A simple-minded pacifist is much more deadly than a harmless gun owner. Guns in the glovebox can save little Timmy's life.

Would you shoot little Timmy's attacker ? Or would you let his attacker rape and kill him ?

If guns are so bad then why are they used top protect the president, or Chicago mayor Richard Daley (Chicago bans guns)?

As long as there are criminals in our streets and a government in charge, there will always be a need for the law-abiding to stay armed.

A gun in the glove box needs no more explaination than a cell phone, road flare, bottle of emergency drinking water or a tire changing tool, other than that the child better keep its hands off of things that don't belong to it unless it knows what they are doing and the relevant emergency exists.

Pass a law that prescribes collection of firearms and let the law abiding do that too. Hahahahaha.

I don't know where the term "law abiding" comes from, but it would definitely be a boon for the state if people always did what it said.

Assuming someone won't murder them is a great reason for people to screw with others, they shouldn't complain though, when they find a fork or a pencil sticking out of their eye when they do. I'm just saying....

That asside, does anybody seem to remember what pharmaceuticals them killer Columbine boys were on? Yeah, that's where the focus needs to be.

I'm feeling generous today so I'll give you a clue

you know what's more dangerous than a gun in the glovebox ?
A: a pint of liquour

cars kill more people than guns

One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them.
Thomas Jefferson

A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks.
Thomas Jefferson

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes ... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and Punishment (1764).

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.
Thomas Jefferson

We are not a Democracy we are a Republic

The republican is the only form of government which is not eternally at open or secret war with the rights of mankind.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

It behooves every man who values liberty of conscience for himself, to resist invasions of it in the case of others: or their case may, by change of circumstances, become his own.
