Sure there are political differences, but those differences don't prevent them bringing home the bacon for Illinois.

In the wake of an historic blizzard that shut down Chicago's lakefront highway, Illinois' senators asked federal officials on Sunday to discuss ways to better protect the city's shoreline.

Judged: 2 2 1 If Chicago wants this problem fixed, then let Chicago fix it with its own solutions and money. If they don't have the necessary funds, then let Chicago ask the public service unions for wage concessions in their current contract and use that money to fix the problem. |

Judged: 2 2 2 Now, I know that I might confuse you here, but i'm going to use science. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2003/11/... Global warming can result in an increase in the water temperature of the Great Lakes. The difference in the water temperature and the air temperature can cause heavier and more violent snowfall in the Great Lakes region. As for texas, it seems to snow even in the "hot" parts of texas every five years or so. It snowed in Houston in 2004/2005 and now again in 2010/2011. Look at the historical data, and you'll see that snow in north texas is not that unusual. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Not saying I suscribe to the theories are not but I had to LOL regarding your post. Idiots like you think "global warming" means it's gets hotter than normal everywhere on the planet. LOL Ya see, when the polar ice melts, it means colder waters, when those waters come far enough south, like off our west coast, you get huge and consistent cold fronts pushing across the country. Causing more snow than normal moving forward. As you mentioned yourself, the east coast has seen more than double the previous avgs. NYC normally gets 22 inches a winter, this year they are well over 55 inches. Your statement regarding all the snow on the east coast actually defends global warming pundits. But like Palin, you assume your assumptions are spot on. No need for research. And like Palin, it makes you look uniformed...or just plain stupid. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Yeah, and Jindal constant requesting for levee help was what? A national issue. While you're at it, tell the Rep Gov of NJ (a north eastern State) that if he has to ask for Feds funds to help with snow removal, he doesn't need to be the Gov. of a north eastern State that gets snow every year. |

Judged: 1 1 1 You clowns have developed arguments to cover all scenarios. So you know what will happen 25 years from now, but you can't tell with any certainty what the weather will be like next week. A majority of American think you people are full of shyt. Go peddle your crap somewhere else. |

Judged: 1 1 1 The Associated Press Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 | 9:05 a.m. Two Democratic leadership aides say Democratic Rep. Jane Harman of California is resigning from the House. The 65-year-old Harman represents a Democratic-safe district is suburban Los Angeles. She was first elected to the House is 1992. After losing a race for governor, she regained the seat in 2000. Harman is a leading voice for Democrats on intelligence and homeland security issues. The Democratic aides spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter. ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST......WHY? |

No need for me to break a sweat. Sit back, watch, and learn. Two Senators, one from each side of the aisle, will show you how their constituents get served. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Same thing goes for you about hurricane cleanup in Florida. Move someplace with better weather and leave Florida to the alligators. Show us the teabagger brains and backbone to cope with your own problems. Heck, you can levy an income tax to start that rainy day fund! |
I must have hit a nerve when I memtioned union concessions on the pay of you useless bureaucrats. And the last time I checked, Florida hasn't had to raise taxes by 67% just to break even. And you probably don't see anything wrong with that picture. You limpwristed sissies get a little wind and ice on one street during one day and you cry for help. There is a big difference between a hurricane and what Chicago faced that DAY. |

Gotta love the fox news theory that you can just declare your personal opinion as the "majority of americans think" blah blah blah, and think people believe you. If the majority of americans don't believe in climate change, show some statistical evidence, polls, anything. Besides, majority rule doesn't apply to science, we use facts instead of a ballot box to determine how the world works. Climate change is real, and it's a fluxuating system. The world heats and cools, like a sine wave. The problem is that the amplitude is increasing, we're getting further from the median each time we shift. We don't know when it's going to get too far to come back. |
